Considering how fast the global mean temperature is rising, I would be extremely surprised if the AMOC didn't copllapse as a result, real question is when it will happen.
The cold blob has been there for decades. I remember seeing it when W was president. I think it's just some cut off circulation like Jupiter's red spot. It doesn't mix with the rest of the ocean.
Climate models fail again. why are we changing the whole setup of human civilisation on the back of garbage climate modelling? There is zero evidence for human caused climate change and talking about amoc change being caused by us on the back of 20 years of shoddy data is utterly laughable.
