A new study from Virginia Tech warns that a powerful earthquake along the Cascadia subduction zone, combined with rising sea levels due to climate change, could cause significant flooding in northern California, Oregon, and Washington. Coastal lands may sink up to 6.5 feet, putting densely populated regions at risk and potentially rendering many communities uninhabitable.
