Tyrus, yes bubonic plague does I sit in California and it’s most prevalent in the great outdoors. That’s why you don’t pick up or handle or let your kids play with dead squirrels in campgrounds. Those squirrels (or other dead animals) may have died of the plague. It isn’t a problem for just California, the plague exists (I think) in every state.
