Thank God they recognized the instability and had already evacuated this village a month earlier! After a month of nothing happening, I’m sure some of those people were thinking they were evacuated for no reason but are now so grateful.

So happy they were able to receive accurate warning of the failure of the glacier. So sorry they have lost everything in a split second. 😢
First and foremost, thank you to the scientist that did the work to keep the people safe and evacuated them as soon as their science was confirmed I’m sure they took a lot of heat this ultimately saved hundreds of people’s lives hopefully people start paying attention more and hear the warning. We’re all trying to convey to the rest of the world that we need change and climate change is real.
And this is just one example of why we need funding for scientists…sigh.
