What I got from this video the lady was pushing a climate change leaning explanation but she did state that there was no clear evidence to be gathered. I am glad that the town was evacuated prior to this incident.
This cycle of erosion has been happening as long as there have been mountains. GRAVITY is to blame #1, #2, #3 and so on to #99, then blame whatever other processes you want.

Why blame the effects of gravity, the expansion of water when it freezes, and the natural effects on "climate change." Well, it's a pretext for some people to control the lives and resources of others. If you had not burned fossil fuels in your automobiles and appliances for your whole life, would that have stopped this inevitable erosion event? Would it have delayed it? If 350 million people in North America had never burned a milliliter of fossil fuels–ever, would that have changed this? How long would the effect of gravity and the expansion of water freezing in the cracks in the rocks have been delayed? For a year? For a day? Without the technology developed by industry powered by fossil fuels, would the people living in Blatten even have known about the impending collapse of the glacier? The important thing is that our technology enabled this village to know about the pending collapse and get out of its way. Without this ability, the villagers would have suffered considerable loss of life. Now, they can use technology to rebuild their homes in a safer location and with structures more likely to protect them in the event of future landslides.

The glacier let go because it could not support the weight of the large cliff face that fell on it.

There's a still big chunk of the mountain that is slipping and yet to come down…. I hope none of the look-i-loos get squished when that happens. That chunk is huge and may cause an even bigger landslide than the glacier did.

If one chooses to settle in a valley, one should expect the earth to occasionally settle down in the valley as well. Yes, climate change is real, there are tree rings, ice cores and rock layers that prove that to be true. Once we can make renewable energy as affordable or more affordable than burning fossil fuels, then our vastly insignificant contribution to increasing global temperatures will slow down. Hopefully the efforts to provide vast clean power via fusion bears fruit soon.
I'd say deforestation and agriculture are humanities largest contributors to global warming. As our population grows, our need for crops, livestock and housing grows.
