  1. Oh its "climate change" that made countries with fast rising populations live on man made flood plains after building damns and such! This more about bad government planning and urban development instead of using "climate change" as a scapegoat for everything!

  2. The government expected flood, flood relief funds was already approved before the raining season even started.
Insteaded of preventing flood they're waiting for it to happen

  3. The loss of lives and destruction of property does not include the ecological destruction extreme weather is inflicting on these regions. That ecological destruction diminishes the hydrological management system the natural world embodies. Ecological destruction, driven by climate change, diminishes resilience against extreme weather, as well as a destruction of the regions fertility. People are impoverished by ecological disasters like this because the land they depend on is being washed away, scoured away to barren dirt. Climate reporting is missing this reality. Every extreme weather event be a drought, wildfire or floods. A sail land was such increasing ferocity that the capacity to recover is overwhelmed, and then the capacity to recover is destroyed.. as the world’s ecological systems unravel through mass extinction by massive storms that scour living planet from the face of the Earth we are all made worse off and more vulnerable to future ex extremity.

  4. Dear nigerian brothers, it is very unfortunate that you are being afflicted by the flood. We indians are with you in this difficult period. Please make upi relief fund for it. We are eager to help you with upi transactions. Gpay, phonepay etc.

  5. This isn't climate change, but an infrequent,  uninterrupted, back-to-back  series of four Extreme Lunar Periapsis, all culminating in the Northern Hemisphere, the likes of which have not been seen since the 1960's, has just completed. The Lunar Periapsis occurs every 28 days on average, and usually causes no problems. The next cycle of Extreme Lunar Periapsis will not occur again before November. Nigeria is not unique in this regard, as wide spread flooding has occurred over much of the globe during this period, from NSW Australia, to China, India, Thailand, Myanmar, the USA, and now Nigeria being the worst hit so far.

  6. West, please show this interest you seem to have with Burkina Faso and their leader and share some of those assassination attempts with Tinubu. He is destroying this country. Of course he did not cause the flood, but maybe if he didn't spend so much of his time in the parlor of Macron, he would have been working on better roads and resiliency among many others. I am shocked he even commented, he is usually busy tweeting on disasters in the US and sending them his condolences. Please, share those assassination attempts with Tinubu, that would help us quite a bit.

  7. The Lord Jesus is judging the world for sin. Repent and be baptized for the remission of your sins. Put down your idol worship and worship the true and living God. Remember Noah's ark, He was judging them too.

  8. It's reckless journalism to hastily attribute this disaster to climate change when it played no role. The real culprit is the unregulated release of water from Kanji Dam, and accountability is necessary for those who permitted it. Furthermore, the supposed "torrential rain" was neither extreme nor ongoing at the time of the flooding.

  9. Prayers are going up for the victims and families of this flooding. Before it’s all said and done, the ones at the bottom will be at the top and the ones at the top will be at the bottom.
