Residents in the Swiss Alps appear to have been spared further catastrophe as water trapped behind glacial debris, which was threatening to flood a valley below, appears to be trickling away slowly.
Earlier this week, millions of cubic meters of ice, mud and rock flattened the village of Blatten. It had already been evacuated, but one person remains missing. Officials warned that fresh evacuations may be necessary as the mass was blocking a river and authorities feared it could trigger a flood or mudslides.

you can clearly see the narrative of the media, trying to scare the population into the climate change fear trap. Yes it would have made some difference but as the specialist said (and was not really accepted by the interviewer) this one off event is not a sign of climate change.
I am suffering from climate change fatigue. When everything is blamed on climate change, it becomes a bit much to take it serious anymore, especially for people who just struggle to afford to live. If the world was really serious about climate change, they would make the green alternative cheaper than the non-green option. But yet again, green is the same color as money, otherwise corporates wouldn't do it.

Ok . That’s how alpine lakes are formed then 🙂. Let the nature create that lake
Climate change has been happening since Earth began. It’s a cycle. Blame those who caused the extreme change in the cycle—humans. To be specific capitalist humans.
The cause of this was a mountain splitting apart. The best explanation for this is 100s or 1000s of years of water freezing and melting over and over. Water gets into the cracks and when it freezes the expanse puts pressure on the cracks. Then it melts filling the newly expanded cracks. Freezing the water again thereby continuing the cycle. Permafrost is exactly that. Permanently frozen water. Ie. Not cyclic. So if the claim is that climate change is causing the permafrost to melt, this would have had to happen 1000s of years ago for the current events to occur. Dont let climatologists sell you this lie
That was a interesting & informative interview with Mr Hegg
Thank God, from DW for compensating to interview experts such as Christoph Hegg. Such a responsible and accurate analysis from the incident by experts is more better to deliver the exact cause and information for the audience, not like the previous lady that she was overacting and behaving thet she is the only one.
The cause was immediately attributed to climate change by the interviewer regardless.
Sometimes there is no one to ‘blame’ it’s just physics
no.
If DB could get the rail more efficient and cheaper, you could limit air travel in EU. That would do more to limit emissions than net zero could ever do. It would also not place the grid at risk. EVs are not the answer, either, btw.
This is cyclical. It happened in the past 160 years ago, and there were hundreds of deaths.
If we had listened the European scientists in 1990. We would be by now 30 billion people living on earth. The sae level would have raised by 2 meters, the french Camargues will be gone as well as the Netherlands. The beat European scientists in Europe claimed this in the 90s. Nothing has happened.
The eco lobbying are strong, back by European governments to increase eco tax.
They need a noble cause to increase taxes and milk their citizens to death
I'm on the fence. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Climate Change, or UFO's? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Most likely, the far right. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Permafrost melting and destabilizing parts of a mountain might actually have something to do with higher temperatures. It's like ice doesn't like it when its warm.crazy.
Plate tectonics.
"Climate change isn’t happening, anthropogenic CO2 emissions aren’t causing it, and it’s not a problem anyway." x 1000's.
Was this village on the hazard map ?
Why is geology being ignored? Why are no geologists interviewed?
.. ..the water after run off is the most pure in the planet
🇺🇸💪🥴🤳🍺🇲🇽
Most likely caused by global warming same as melting glaciers and permafrost. A top geo could weigh in but no need to jump to conclusions
No you can not call it climate change
