The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast five days of rain for Kerala, starting today. This prediction comes as a result of several prevailing weather patterns influencing the region.
A coastal trough of low pressure has formed, extending from the North Kerala coast up to the North Konkan coast. Additionally, a well-marked low-pressure area is situated over Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal. Meanwhile, another low-pressure system over Rajasthan has weakened into a cyclonic circulation. The westerly winds over Kerala continue to remain strong, contributing to the anticipated rainfall.
The IMD specifically warns of the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall from June 22 to June 25. Along with the rains, strong winds with speeds of up to 40-60 km/h are also likely. While there are no specific rain warnings issued for any districts today, residents are advised to stay updated with local weather advisories for the coming days.
