📹 On June 21, a very rare atmospheric phenomenon known as a crown flash (also called a «dancing parhelion») was captured in the state of Alabama, USA.
😀 This meteorological event occurs when sunlight is reflected or refracted through tiny ice crystals located above the top of a cumulonimbus cloud. These crystals align under the influence of a strong electric field around the cloud.
⚡️ When the electric field is disrupted — usually during a lightning discharge — the ice crystals rapidly change orientation, causing a sudden shifting light effect that looks like a flickering or «dancing» glow in the sky.
🌤️ This truly rare and beautiful phenomenon can only be seen under specific weather conditions and from the right angle of sunlight.
