In partnership with dedicated @IocUnnesco, ESCAP Trust Fund for Tsunami, Disaster and Climate Preparedness has been strengthening disaster resilience in the North-West Indian Ocean, specifically on near-field tsunamis from the Makran subduction zone. By investing in early warning systems, community-based preparedness, and robust infrastructure, we aim to safeguard lives and livelihoods in coastal communities facing the threat of coastal hazards in less than 20 minutes.
