Wow, that was harsh. In England, we have moved back to timber framed houses because it's quicker and cheaper. We've also built whole estates of so-called executive homes on What the government term 'brown field' sites. Instead of giving builders grants to bring dilapidated houses back into use
I've lived in the USA & Canada and both have the vast majority of houses built from wood with plasterboard interior wall. When I see such disasters the story of The Three Little Pigs always comes to mind. Then they always rebuild in the same susceptible places with wood homes.
Funny the neglect of storm water drains seems to be a world wide problem
Sus casas son prefabricadas en su mayoría, no es extraño que con un huracán o un tornado queden destrozadas.

Shame students at university don’t spend more time on these types of real-life problems rather than things like gender ideology and critical race theory? How many more generations will be lost who contribute nothing to society 🤔.
Love your little story about the religious nutter on the house roof – I thought it was a raging Elephant last term I heard that said about the power of Prayer ! God is the only vaccine I need !Thankyou for sharing your Wisdom Gran – I agree that Stone and bricks are better than chipboard but these people are hardy backwoods sorts and will survive somehow !
Next Time -Listen to the Big Pig !
I've lived in Tornado Alley my whole life, and the warning system works pretty well for tornadoes, which form so quickly. I've been in so many. But the worst tornado in recent years in my state came around midnight, so there was a big death toll. Time of day is crucial in the outcome. Anybody living in tornado country has learned how to pay attention. Other than by outlawing stick construction, which would never fly, the municipal governments can hardly do more than to maintain their sirens.
It’s not controlled because it’s about the money the councils get for development ! The government does give a 💩how they’re funded ! !
I can only assume there must be a lot of very stupid people building houses around Mississippi if they have not yet managed to realise that building houses as they do is not going to solve them being damaged by flood and tornados.
as a professional conspiracy theorist (who only deals in reality! )i know
this planet has been undergoing changes to its climate since before
you humans appeared and it will continue long after you all vanish !
Man made climate change is bunk🇨🇦
Probably sound crazy buuuut. The government controls everything happening even the weather. 〰️〰️🛩〰️〰️🛩〰️〰️🛩〰️〰️🛩〰️〰️🛩〰️〰️〰️🛩
Weather manipulation/GEOENGINEERING is real.
We have tropical storms in Northern Australia, since the 1980's all buildings, within 50km of the coast, are supposedly built to a 'cyclone code' or similar. That is the buildings must withstand a Category 4 storm. That's winds of 250kmh.
Very few homes are built with frames or roof trusses built of timber. Termites being the main reason. The houses I have in Queensland and the NT are steel frame trussed, steel roofed and concrete filled block construction. Apart from windows and impact damage they have survived several tropical storms.
Winds of 200mph will take down even brick work houses. 30 ton trucks slamming into a reinforced concrete house will obliterate it. That being said if they designed domed houses or at least aero dynamic buildings perhaps more would remain standing. Blaming climate change is just a way to keep the Poll Tax/climate change on the boil. At the moment the west has weak in effective and practically useless governments with all of the answers but none of the solutions.
Every time a video on this subject is posted there is ALWAYS a post from United nations. I presume to debunk the said post!!!
Tornadoes are so very unpredictable. You cannot build a tornado proof building. I have to say, these storms are not new and their severity is no worse than in the past. Social media has twisted the minds of this generation. They believe what they face is worse than in the past. No, not so. Florida USA 🇺🇸
Most of the problems are caused by carelessness, ignorance and misconstruction.
Stick houses. Of course one major cause of flooding in this country is of course urbanisation, If we develop large urban developments together with roads, car parking etc, etc in low lying flood plains then we will always suffer with flooding. Of course the real reason is that this country is overpopulated and until that is accepted no improvement will be achieved, and a good indicator that this is true is our ability to produce roughly 50% our food.
Hi granny All very sad, but indeed much could be done to mitigate some of the damage and loss of life . To doggedly sticking to traditional buildings methods is not the best approach , and also the actual design would benefit from a different approach . A shallow dome which extends below the surface , would make far more sense to limit the effects of such climatic conditions. Obviously if such an event takes place in an area that is not known for such activity, it is always going to be difficult to predict . But as in this case it does seem rather wishful thinking that this type of event is not going to happen at some point in the future . Perhaps we could all do to take a lesson from such as Eskimo / Inuit peoples and be more in tune with the environment we inhabit , and work with not against nature . Concrete igloo anybody ?
Supposedly there's a way to help keep the houses standing. Anchor the frame to the foundation. Anchor the roof to the frame. They don't do that much
It would be very dangerous to build houses with bricks and slate tiles in America, could you imagine the destruction in a hurricane with bricks and heavy tile’s flying around at 200 mph?
Also don’t forget geoengineering, the deliberate weather modification that governments employ to charge the weather. It seems coincidental that the weather becomes more extreme as the climate agenda is pushed. Remember when lock down started and 3 months of blue sky across the uk and world…
Greetings D, all blessings be with you. You will remember our conversation regarding my late wife, thank you again for your kindness. I am in Mississippi. A tornado or cyclone (as they are called in the Southern Hemisphere) are rare. Where this tornado touched down the people never had a chance. A tornado/cyclone is chance incident you truly cannot prepare. They literally drop from sky. 300 mph is indefeasible. In my new hometown, when I moved from Boston hit my new hometown, it took out 11 people, beheading an infant. I went by the house of a friend of an FBI agent friend. It is true straw and soft materials will pass through brick. Blessings for your consideration.
Courption level is high
Americans… I suspect Pedro in Chile doesn’t feel concerned.
(Sorry I couldn’t help, two things learned loooong time ago, at school: don’t confuse England and the UK or even Great Britain, don’t confuse the USA and America – though I’m not sure the second thing is taught on your side of the Channel).
Otherwise, spot on!
If you don’t want to face tornadoes, you stay in Europe. Accounts of the XVIIIth and XIXth centuries about Europeans considering settling down across the Atlantic are full of details about the harshness of the climate over there. And if in addition you build shacks instead of solid housing (I know, not many quarries, hence the building with planks) and close to the river in places that are obvious overflow basins (I know, such a nice and lovely site) you invite disaster.
But how could they miss the opportunity of making one feel uncomfortable and guilty about the last journey with the (non electric) car or the nextcoming trip on a plane.
