What Four billion people living in areas of severe water stress, a fall in biodiversity of 10%, and poor air quality becoming the top cause of early deaths worldwide: these were just some of the warnings for 2050 issued by the OECD on the eve of Rio+20 in 2012, as it urged the world to go green. The original Earth Summit took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1992. In the ensuing 20 years the earth’s population grew by a billion and a half people. Alarm bells also started ringing louder on climate change and the urgency of adopting a greener, more resilient, global strategy towards sustainable development.
Find out how governments can go green by removing fossil fuel subsidies and using taxes to curb carbon emissions and pollution. OECD data and analysis can help policymakers improve their balance sheets, foster sustainable growth and save lives. For more information visit https://www.oecd.org/en/topics/environment.html
ABOUT THE OECD
The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) is an international organisation established in 1960 that works collaboratively to build better policies for better lives. Our goal is to shape policies that foster prosperity, equality, opportunity and well-being for all. Together with governments, policy makers, policy shapers, and citizens, we work on establishing evidence-based international standards and finding solutions to a range of social, economic and environmental challenges. From improving economic performance and creating jobs to fostering strong education and fighting international tax evasion, we provide a unique forum and knowledge hub for data and analysis, exchange of experiences, best-practice sharing, and advice on public policies and international standard-setting.

I like the joyful background music in the video. It makes the End of the world easier to accept.
3-6 degrees average increase of temp by the end of the century? Where do you get the statistics from? Al Gore? Well, he's a noble prize winner, so he must be a credible scientific source.,.
Taxes like this do work. Germany's Trash Tax makes people recycle a lot more. In germany, you are charged for the weight of your trash, not your recycling bin.
So europe and North America has, and still is, dumping all the trash in the world for the past 200 years at least, but quick let's point the finger to emerging countries!
LOL… how much lies… lol…
What a load of greenwashing bullshit propaganda. You can't fool us!

This is a critical problem, we need to investigate more about eco-friendly technology, like solar cars, instead of helping petroleum industries to find petrol and gas.

Typical BIG corporate words..No one will do anything when it comes to giving funds for achieving the results in LDCs and developing countries. So called developed countries took their leisure time to develop themselves and pollute the environment and now imposing big corporate targets on others that too with meagre financial assistance. Go GREEN, Yea sure, That will remain true only on the GREEN SCREEN
So what you are saying is that companies should be able to continue their harmful emissions as long as they pay fines to governments? Seriously??
