I don't think anybody spends time explaining to people what is "Too late" really means by showing real pictures.
They had used pretty useless examples like losing ocean front property, polar bears losing their habitats etc.
Most people don't take climate change seriously because what "too late" will look like.
How about collapse of agriculture, distribution system, civilization, human extinction? People not being able to find food so the only option is to eat another human?
Should we be listening to someone who's wife and kid are forced to wear tablecloths?
How about we force giant corporations to give up all the alternative energy patents they have bought up over the years. We can't bring back the scientists they have assassinated, but it's a start.

The problem lies within Western corporate media. There wont be a ground swell of grassroots oposition to oil gussling policies until the people are regularly and consciously having to defend their homes against the effects of climate change, so long as the corporate media keeps the debate at bay for fear of its impact on profits.
The only thing activists can do is keep directing folk to look at the statements being made by the scientific institutions on climate change on their own websites.

I am over 55, and I live on the shore of the bay of fundy, Canada.. home oF the highest tides in the world… i have not seen a noticeable rise in the waters here in my lifetime.. no swamping our shorelines.. why is it only rising over islands in the pacific`… I believe my eyes and I personally don`t see much of a difference between now and 45-50 years ago… so my eyes say no to the mainstream climate chaos-mania…. peace and freedom 2013

Did you actually watch the video? One of the least of the problems with politicians is the fact that they lie. Part of it is the impossibility of satisfying everyone: they have to lie to someone. A better question is why they need to act such that they have to lie about it. And it varies in each case, but the unifying theme is receipt of money from big money donors; institutions and individuals who can turn the tap right on or right off. No magic conspiracies or secret religions required.
So, if BO does X to support Climate Control, he will surely not be able to get other things passed.What does those others things matter if the habitable planet is destroyed? Bad argument…fuck the planet, let's save the DOD budget (what a clown).
We don't serve the government. We serve the owners of the largest amounts of capitals' desire to acquire more capital. The government simply reflects power as it is exercised.
Perhaps I misunderstood Jay's point, but I thought Roosevelt was known for saying "make me do it" (I can't find a source, and this may be apocryphal, but it seems an often told story at least). One can make a valid case against Obama, but as soon as you do that, others make numerous invalid (and frankly peculiar) cases ad nauseam. It's more enlightening to examine the underlying causes.

The American People lack even the most essential Constitutionally-endorsed political power; in this case specifically, the Constitutionally-guaranteed right to pursue Articles of Impeachment against an individual who is provably an undocumented alien! The first thing that anyone needs to gain an understanding of before they make any assessments of this event is that there is a faction that is actually creating and doing things to make climate changes. Geoengineering is very real and they are doing operations that are obvious and purposeful. The purposes for this are … well lets say questionable. Maybe they want to melt the pole cap to get to Oil and resources, idk.
I haven't seen this, but will. There is horrific destruction going to our planet, no question, but geo-engineering deliberate climate change is a whole other ball game. Until that is taken into the equation, no one will understand what is going on. We are only a blip on the screen of the history of the planet itself. we have data for a couple hundred years out of thousands, what do they know?
Fuhrer Obama repeatedly fails to present the Big Picture in regards to Climate Change. These are not just technical issues. These are core issues that are connected to the political-military powers at force in the world today.

The fact that Obama must address the climate issue unilaterally is a sad reflection of the complete failure of congress to act or even discuss the biggest threat confronting the U.S. since the beginning of our Republic. Rather than embracing science as the only reliable way of understanding the world around us, many within congress as well as their constituents have adopted an antagonistic attitude to the unpleasant message that climate scientists have reported to us, and science in general.

solution to climate change: poor money into bio nano technology. genetically engineered bacteria that take CO2 out the air and turn it into ethanol already exist. bacteria that produced hydrogen we could run cars on are being developed. science can solve these problems. stop funding the army and fund the scientists.

You might as well just tax the people again, because that is who it will be passed on to.
The current price of carbon consumption doesn't reflect its true cost (negative externality). So even if you're right, the tax is still the best way to "correct" the price.
And a carbon tax could be offset by tax cuts targeted at "normal folks". How about we get just rid of the payroll tax?

You completely ignore the fact that you could use 1/4 of the energy tomorrow and you would only be slightly inconvenienced, you'd have to carpool or bus to work, or bicycle, and you'd still have clean clothes and warm houses if you insulated. Americans are so unbelievably spoiled by the light switch that they spout nonsense about the whole question, "ooooh it's so bad we can't do anything about it!" and they say that mostly so they don't have to, and not because they are really hurting.
The entire internet runs on less than a hundredth the energy we use in this country, people could run their laptops on a slowly pedaled exercise bike. Heating your house to 70 F is mostly unnecessary, with better insulation and tiny heaters under our keyboards or wherever we sit our hands and feet, and we could be perfectly happy at 50 F and sweaters. Americans are unbelievably spoiled.
