Less meat to eat, no petrol-powered cars, fewer flights, and homes no longer heated with gas boilers. (Subscribe: https://bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
That’s what will have to happen now that the Prime Minister has committed the UK to the toughest climate change target of any major economy. Environmental groups have welcomed the tightening of existing legally-enshrined targets that will mean our greenhouse gas emissions will be cut to zero by 2050.

What is needed is a world council that every country belongs to, the first task is to educate people properly and address the third world first, give them real physical help to solve their main problems, the biggest problem is Desertification meaning land that was used for growing food and reducing carbon be returned to their original condition which can be done with very little money…….watch the youtube videos on Desertification for the proof, we can do that now and reclaim the land that feeds our people in the right way and puts back the water into the underground caverns and the surface soil and rivers. I don't see students and climate change protesters pushing for this when it is a simple task to solve the problems within 5 to 7 years.
If May said it this promise will be hot air so to speak.
Yea great ,while China and India between them open 3 Coal fired power stations every week
The masterplan to genocide us:))))))))))
No more woman in positions of power or influence, their idiots , embarrassing and not fit for leadership as history has proved beyond doubt
This fool Mrs May is determined to ruin this country one way or another.
Here's what Climate experts were saying in 1970:
“Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind.”
Harvard biologist George Wald
“It is already too late to avoid mass starvation,”
Denis Hayes, Chief organizer for Earth Day
“We are in an environmental crisis which threatens the survival of this nation, and of the world as a suitable place of human agitation.”
Washington University biologist Barry Commoner
“Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100–200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years
Stanford University biologist Paul Ehrlich
By 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000, or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions …. By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine.”
North Texas State University professor Peter Gunter
“In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution… by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half.”
Life magazine
“At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it’s only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable. … By the year 2000, if present trends continue, we will be using up crude oil at such a rate … that there won’t be any more crude oil. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age.”
Kenneth Watt
Its a nice dream but wheres all the money coming from
Artic is melting now. Times up.
Maybe other major economies will follow UK example.
Yes she would say all this and dictate that because there's every good chance she will like myself been pushing up Daisy s for a few years before .
the stupid UK wouldn't even commit to brexit!!!!
An ambitious target, but is it realistic? The UK managed to cut emissions by roughly 200mt/y since 1990, but has already picked the low-hanging fruit. Industries shrank, consumers bought into efficiency, car engines got better, gas replaced coal.. etc. You now want to go even harder, yet with less nuclear energy and no commitment to zero population growth? A goal without a plan is just a wish. Call this one May's wish.
How is this in any way aligned with anything slightly resembling reality?
She has such tell-tale lying mannerisms almost whenever she speaks!
What a complete and utter load of garbage.
I wouldn't give them any electricity, can you imagine how bad it would be if they had something like endless renewables – look how much they mess up the world with what they know is finite, & most of the useage has been needless. It's a constant noise pollution and vibration pollution harassment as is, I wouldn't give them anything they can use to keep that going. It's wrong and it should never have been allowed to get this way.
This is so pointless, China and India are the biggest polluters of the world, the amount of greenhouse gases the Uk produces is just a drop in the ocean and won’t change anything if we cut our emissions to 0, all this will do is hurt the economy and consumers without benefiting the planet or anything.
Humans are scum mostly, they use fucking powered lawnmowers etc ffs. They shouldn't exist, they are a literal disease on Gods creation.
To undermine completely manufacturing in the UK and absolutely Castrate the igniters of the Industrial Revolution..ridiculous fools. If the little UK is zero the maximum effect on the worlds emissions will be 1 measly percent..total fools. It will amount to near nothing and force "emissions austerity" high costs and creating hardship on the land.
What a con. Are people really that stupid? Walking straight into the mouth of communism based on erroneous climate change
Clowns run the british government.
She said ‘2050’ with no sense of irony. That’s her legacy… the ability to play golf…while making sure companies propagating bad practices continue to make money.
The Whole planet has only added less the 2% carbon into our atmosphere . There is less than 8% carbon in the atmosphere and 6% is naturally occurring. It's all goverment properganda to make people payout for things that don't need paying out For.
There is nothing that could make this womans' legacy appear better than an un polishable turd. This woman stinks of self interest. She screwed Brexit, Assange, 17.4 million Brits and now wants to screw with the climate hoax, her legacy will be LOSER. Pollution will reduce 99% when May shuts her mouth, packs her bags and vanishes
Stupid old bag of wind
Its unrealistic and stupid
Too little, too late
2030 would not be that hard.
Wont happen
zero emissions? so they are going to kill us all?
gas boilers only emissions is water vapour.
what was the point of man going to the moon?
so the earth is billions of years old and mankind is ruining it until 2050?
how many nappies a day go into landfill ?
eat you die don"t eat you die quicker.
What you say you will do and what you actually do does not add up:
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/jun/24/hmrc-pushes-massive-vat-increase-for-new-solar-battery-systems
But that wouldn't be the first time when money trumps integrity, would it?
Sorry UK but this is futile action.
Greenhouse gas effect is proven wrong by Gas Law.
Any action will not change the temperature unleash the pressure is changed.
They are all mad just the electric vehicles battery is the same co2 emission as running a petrol car for 6 and half years, you have cobalt running out so battery problem
What a bunch of idiots! Go picket the Chinese Embassy, they are building coal fired power plants as fast they can.
Net Zero by 2050 is absolute Leftist Insanity! It’s a road to poverty, not to mention it’s practically impossible.
And if some how it happens you would be handing control of the world’s economy to China, Chine is Not using “renewables”, China is Not worried about Net Zero.

The UK should replace of fossil fuel to renewable fuels e.g: biopetrol, biodiesel, biojet fuel, nuclear fuel, etc.
Total Idiocy.
We haven't got the technology or infrastructure now, or in 2050.
Net zero would be a complete disaster for the West and other countries. How we have let ourselves get conned into believing all this so-called ‘environmental’ nonsense is beyond me? Are these people pushing for this agents of hostile countries? These ‘environmentalists’ and their ilk, like the ‘greens’ etc should be treated as basically terrorists, as they will destroy our countries if they have their way! Teresa May is a complete idiot and an example of the weak minded nitwits running our county!
Not gonna happen. A fools dream, for people who are away with the fairies.
Saving humanity by telling other people how to live.
