Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has attended a meeting with the European Commission as it moves to adopt a continent-wide Climate Law.
The law would commit the EU to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050.
However, leading climate action groups expressed disappointment the proposal did not include a 2030 emissions target, arguing 2050 was too late.
Ms Thunberg said the agreement indicated the commission had given up.

Yes…we must listen to the wise advice of a rich child who has never had to pay for anything….and thinks flying multiple crew across the globe, to sail her carbon fibre (petroleum epoxy) $4 million yacht that required over 100 tons of CO2 to manufacture, is zero carbon emissions, while her taking a single one of those same plane tickets alone would have been worse….tell us all how we need to live, and the economics of energy, two subjects she has never even studied, let alone worked in…..
