⚡ Introducing THE BREAKDOWN, a five-part film series on climate change: exploring how we got here, where we’re headed, and what we can ALL do to make a difference! ⚡
ABOUT
In Episode 1, we kick off the series with a big picture look at the history of our planet. 🌎 We start by looking back at the last 10,000 years of climate stability and explore how the discovery of ancient fossil fuels changed the course of humanity as we know it. 🔥

Our planet is irreversibly screwed and we have only ourselves to blame. Enjoy it while it lasts folks. Sorry.👎🏾
You said that dinosaurs were killed by an ice age. There is no evidence to support this theory. HOwever, otherwise a very interesting and well made video
thank you for this! such an excellent and easy introduction to understanding climate change, definitely sharing this one.
Let’s go Brandon
How did we get here? As in, how did atmospheric CO2 drop from 5000 ppm down to 300 ppm ever since life flourished on earth? Why is CO2 at a historical low? Wake up and visit a natural history museum!
when it comes to global warming the only thing that makes me feel better is knowing that the earth with be fine
“When we are gone the Earth will be fine”. Could Homo sapiens be a victim of the sixth extinction?
Cars
The production of this video is stunning!
Not even close to a catastrophe compared to what we’ve achieved with fossil fuels.
this keeps being recommended to me
very well job
I thought it was a song by clicking. Lol
one thing no one is talking about when they mention climate change is that the human race has adapted to living in some of the most inhabital places on earth and in space so what makes people think that we have stopped adapting to our surroundings ?
I'm late to this content. Great job ✊ From 4million to 8billion humans … wow! 👀
The world is not ending. Our consciousness is ending
Mostly drivel. Globally the ACE index (accumulated cyclone energy) 1980-2021 shows no increasing trend. Global Hurricane Landfalls 1970-2021 (updated from Weinkle et al, 2012) shows no trend. Satellite data since 1980 shows a slight downward global trend for total hurricaine numbers with 2021 being a record low year. The IPCC reports in AR6, chapter 11, "The total global frequency of TC [tropical cyclone] formation will decrease or remain unchanged with increasing global warming (medium confidence)." Multidecadal variability in Atlantic hurricaines is most probably related to the AMO (Vecchi et al, 2021). NOAA data 1851-2021 shows no trend in number of hurricaine landfalls with the record high being 1886. What the data from NOAA SPC shows about tornados: EF1-EF5 (1954-2022) no trend; EF3-EF5 (most destructive) (1954-2022) 50% decline. No EF5s in US since 2013 (a record absence).
The Global Land Precipitation Anomaly from AR5 will disappoint with deviations from the average increasing by 0.2% per decade, but if you look at the actual data, it's just very variable over the decades.
Drought appears to be decreasing (Watts et al, 2018) measured by SPI 1901-2017.
Deaths from natural disasters are about 0.6% of what they were a century ago.
What else? Oh, deserts like the Sahara have shrunk considerably and the Earth has greened by 15% or more in a human lifetime (NASA).
On extinction the rate is very low: 900 known lost species for 2.1 million known species in 500 years. At that frequency it will take nearly 190,000 years to reach 15% extinction i.e. a mass extinction.
There is no climate crisis. This video is anti-humanist.
So many lies here. There is NO EVIDENCE of increase in 'extreme weather' events. No mention of the Medieval Warm Period or the fact that the mid Nineteenth Century was the end of the Small Ice Age. To say that the Earth has 'never been warmer' is a FLAT OUT LIE. We know that in Roman times the Earth was at least 2 degrees Celsius warmer than now. You use the opinion of one 'scientist' but give no opposing views. This is a blatant political rant. Nothing more. Shame.
What music was used in the into?
I wanna use it in a video on lithium mining, it would be really nice
Short and sweet as will be the life of Homo sapiens econoannihilatus.
Our Earth will not be “fine” because people dumped nuclear waste in The Atlantic Ocean. The barrels are rotting.
