Today US Vice-President Kamala Harris is travelling to Lake Mead in Nevada to talk up the President’s climate agenda. It’s the biggest reservoir in the US, but it’s drying up because of the twin effects of the heat and the drought, both of which are exacerbated by climate change.

In Venezuela we used to have 5 20 thousand-year-old glaciers, but most of them disappeared in a 5-decade span. Regarding the Greenhouse Effect, many people are likely not aware that 99% of the atmosphere has no ability to retain any of the heat radiating away from Earth’s surface. Only greenhouse gases are able to absorb the infrared radiation escaping into space. Without the insulating blanket of carbon dioxide and such, the planet would be frozen solid.
