Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says there is a view in the senior ranks of the government that there is more on the table for the Nationals than another cabinet spot and a productivity commission review of the net zero target.
“It has been speculated that changes to the EPBC Act governing environmental laws could occur, through regulation,” Mr Clennell said.
“There was a letter from the PM to the Nationals with certain promises.
“The PM yesterday mentioned $20 billion worth of spending by 2030 for projects in the regions, such as hydrogen and carbon capture, but that is funding already committed. Scott Morrison pretty cagey on some aspects of this, including the modelling underpinning the assumptions contained in The Australian Way plan.
“A Senate Estimates Committee heard this morning it is not Treasury modelling, it is modelling for Energy Minister Angus Taylor’s department, assisted by Mr Taylor’s old firm McKinsey. I am told the modelling around this will not be released for another two weeks. Not the best distraction to the announcement.
“Nevertheless, Scott Morrison has his net zero plan to take to Glasgow with Nationals approval. A win, although one minister did remark to me that it was just a continuation of the current policy of government essentially, and it was crazy that Barnaby Joyce, Bridget McKenzie and co had threatened to blow the show up as a result.”

The fact that Australia has bought into the propaganda that we are in a “climate crisis” caused by the burning of fossil fuels is terrifying. If you support the “Net-Zero” policy, you are either ignorant of the true science , a coward, or you are set up to benefit financially from the policy.
Much like the COVID-19 hysteria, the entire “Green” climate crisis narrative is about creating fear so that the government can gain more power.
If anyone had the courage to investigate the science behind these policies, it would reveal that none of this is based on science. It is based on computer modeling which has been shown to be wrong time and time again.
We need CO2 for life. There is no scientific data that can conclusively determine to what degree human activity contributes to global warming. Additionally, there is no data to support the theory that CO2 is the thermostat of the planet. Simply adding or eliminating CO2 and claiming that will have any effect on climate has no scientific basis. It is simply an assumption derived from computer models that fail over and over again.
Until someone (other than the scientists who have been cancelled) gain the courage to challenge the entire premise of this fabricated emergency, we will suffer and our children will suffer and our environment will suffer.
Wind and Solar are devastating for our environment. They are inefficient, unreliable, and unaffordable. Go nuclear.

I really hate this logic. Let's shit tank our viable energy production models to suit my ideological possession and junk, politically maligned climate change science and then let's hope that somebody smarter than me figures out how to keep the light on with hypothetical technology that no one has thought to implement yet because my mobile phone is so cool. I'll bet that the "modelling" contains provisions which have nothing to do with the issues at hand and everything to do with the nature of our federal and state governments response to the covid plandemic which must factor into any future spending. In other words, any infrastructure spending must be predicated on reasonably accurate population demographics, and that's what Morrison doesn't want any scrutineers to see. It's curious how they seem to separate themselves from the population et al. It suggests that not everyone on the benches is "in the know", and given Morrison's final outburst about non-specific "technology", there's obviously something about that which needs to be 'buried' before the modelling is released.
I think that there's a bunch of "foxes" in the government "henhouse"!
