India’s Prime Minister says the country is aiming to hit net zero by 2070.
Narendra Modi has laid out some of his country’s goals when it comes to the climate.
One of his aims is for the nation to emit one billion fewer tons of carbon by 2030, with 50% of energy being provided by renewable sources by then.

I was actually really pleased with his 2030 goals… I just wish he had stopped there. Realistically if India hits those 2030 goals it seems like someone will get their carbon neutral goals more in line with 2050 later. Seriously, he should have just stopped at 4 things.

China set the net zero target 2060, India has set 2070..
Bruh Western countries are polluting the earth from centuries currently the most of the pollution is because when Western countries were developing they were polluting the earth first y'all make net zero, because of y'all developing countries like us, and poor countries are suffering..
And India's per capita pollution is far less than US European countries.. So s h u t t h e f u c k up…
I don't know why people are laughing at 2070.
India isn't part of nuclear supply group because "rich" countries don't let us in. Without shifting from coal to nuclear energy even 2070 look so ambitious, it will take 200 year to achive net zero.

Developed countries should have announced a 2030 net zero goal to offset developing countries' growth. I am 100% sure not a single developed country will meet its 2050 net-zero goal. So India with its 2070 goal makes no difference .. the 2030 goals are more important.
