The Indian prime minister made five pledges for how the country would help to tackle the climate emergency over the next few decades. India, a developing country of more than 1.3 billion people, is the world’s third largest emitter of carbon dioxide after the US and China.

i love you mr modi we achive our goal but sir we need to controle our population to save our eaarth we must need sirrr
Props for naming a seemingly realistic date that this will be accomplished long after he's dead, but reducing climate change whatever to a net zero is functionally impossible since the goal is simply whatever the media says it is at the time and this policy will only be used to browbeat and oppress the Indian people as it has done everywhere else. Hope you guys catch on faster than us.
Just like I say” I will be the richest person in 2070!”
Lol
What a joke. 50 years from now? The whole place should have burst out laughing….
Abenomics vs Fekulimate
It's the thought that counts 😂
*modi: 500 gigwatt till 2030
also *modi: spends(wasted) 3000cr rupees ($370 million ) to build a Statue in india.
At this rate we'll be extinct by then.
As an Indian living outside of India I am appalled by the 2070 set as target. The reason educated people from there want to leave is its difficult to breathe in the cities, and there is no infrastructure in the smaller towns.
The comments below have convinced me how little people know about CO2 emissions reduction. I see sarcastic comments against India's goal. Those people read this please:
1. India is the one of the only countries to not only hav achieved but performed far better in their CO2 emission reduction goal as per Paris accords.
National Geographic tracks the progress countries that signed the agreement India, Gambia, Morocco are top achievers; Saudi Arabia, Russia and USA barely trying.
Hence India has already fulfilled its goals for 2030. So people who think goals at these accords and agreements are unachievable or just for declaring read and follow and research first.
2. Secondly one should also account population, power requirement, major industries and many correlated factors.
India achieved its goal despite being the second most populous country, turned the way it acquired energy heavily dependent on thermal sources to renewable ones.
3. The 2070 goal. People just seeing it as a joke. Please first understand how big a deal it is for such a large populous to have 0% emissions. Bhutan has a population of 700K and they have set Zero emission goal at 2030. So just use your head to calculate how much time a country like India will take? Atleast India has a goal. And by past record it is a country which can be bet upon to complete its goal. It is one of the few countries that can look forward to next bigger goals as past one is achieved.
Nonsense.
First,you need to build toilets.
Talk less,do more.
He think he will not die
First tell him to bring back Malaya from UK while he is travelling in UK with tax payers money.
Fix poverty first
Geerrraara here
By building nuclear bombs and three air graft carriers.
2070 you kidding modick, the world will be gone
In 2070 we will be extinct. India, USA and China must stop the emission. Popat muhammed hijraa, please shut up and wash your arpit
What about poo emissions?
