In Peru, Sky News has been told that the country is on the ‘edge of disaster’, with a deepening water crisis to which there is no plan.
More than 70% of the world’s tropical glaciers exist in Peru, providing vital water for farming and drinking for millions across the north of the country.
But they are receding at rapid pace.
Sky’s Chief Correspondent Stuart Ramsay reports from the Yanapaccha glacier in Peru’s Cordillera Blanca mountains.

Without the glaciers there will be no water for farming. No farming, no money, no food. And that will be quickly followed by no water for towns or cities, No water for people. Starvation, famine and drought. Followed by huge migration from the South to the North, millions and millions of people desperately looking for somewhere else to live. More Conflict, more Wars, and very soon after that, The End of the World as we know it. And we will have brought it on ourselves. The Dinosaurs didn’t see their Extinction coming; we, ironically, have seen it coming for generations.

Can’t we just use the world’s whitest paint 🎨 to apply to those bare mountains 🏔? The white paint 🎨 would reflect the sunlight back into space and thus cool 😎 down those mountains 🏔. Ice 🧊 would reform and there’d be water 💦 again. And to alleviate global heating, we could inject CW7 into the stratosphere and temperatures would drop down again.
