Well said Ruth! I can clearly see the disparity of views between age groups here…the young wannbe's trying to agree with the brainwashing the government has employed. Whereas Ruth has seen many Governmental cockups throughout her years and is no longer as easily convinced as the youngsters….she benefits from a 'higher altitude view' of events and is concerned enough to voice her misgivings.

First chap, rubbish, nothing to do with 'sustainable', the fact is we didnt invest in domestic energy supply, we outsourced. Disgraceful. Last lady, spot on. It shows the madness of the whole 'climate lobby'. No sense of proportion, no grip on reality.

Err no, it's because of very generous forced artificial increases in energy bills paid for by the public and from our taxes which could and should have been better spent elsewhere.
"Generous government subsidies", what you mean is public debt, why does the tax payer have to pay for the windfarms and then pay for the debt (plus interest of course), if this is genuine seed capital then the farms are effectively public assets, it's THOSE that should provide the electricty for free until the debt is discharged, that turns public debt into statee backed private borrowing.
Windfarms do not last forever and offshore for a lot less, they generate nothing when there is no wind nor when it is too strong, denseley located farms see rapid declines in generation from one row to another; it is true that they can generate those 24% odd requirement levels but when, most ofen when overal demand is low.
Study the histories of the establishment of the Trilateral Commission, subsequent pronouncements by the UN and the Bruntland report of some fourty years ago, and the OBJECTIVE of the destruction of the economic system is made clear, "Covid" and all the societal ills tha have flowed from it are but one interration of the same psychotic venture.
Time to start fracking for fuels. And nuclear power

Wind turbines are not green, they kill birds and bats. The blades are buried in land fills and they do not break down over time.
Net zero, like The Paris Accords, is designed to transfer wealth and power from the West. It's that simple.

Windfarms kill millions of animals and birds by stripping the land to install them. Solar panels cannot be easily dealt with at the end of their life snd leach a multitude of toxic chemicals into the earth. China is knocking out more and more coal fired power stations to keep up with our demand. Yep, i am convinced….Net Zero is a real winner.
The cosumer has paid for the wind farms they are not viable without huge subsidies
25 – 30% of our electricity comes from wind farms is utter bollocks. You’re lucky if it’s between 1-5% and that’s when the wind blows. All they’ve done is put our electricity up and ruin the landscape of our once beautiful countryside.
So at best renewables only provides only 20% of our energy
There is no such thing as 'net zero' . It means 100% zero and 100% is impossible
And they are still going for it never mind about 1000s of jobs lost or people freezing in winter if we are not self sufficient what will happen if we fall out with the countries that ship it all in
