It's common in tropical regions. In my country we call it fish kill. Mostly happens when there's massive increase in algae, its like red tide in rivers. Probably because thers an increase in sunlight in that region that cousis exponential growth of algae. When algae decay it deplete the dissolve oxygen in the water in return sophisticates the fish. If Climate is changing maybe some phenomenon in the tropic is now happening in the cold region of the world. I'm no expert just my opinion. ✌️🇵🇭
