As carbon emissions change the chemistry of the seas, ocean acidification threatens marine life and human livelihoods. How worried should you be about climate change’s so-called “evil twin”?

What's the worst situation, for the future children will find a horrible world 😢. In my case, I'm reusing plastics as much as I can. And I take care my garden. It's not too much but at least is a small step
It is a lie the ocean PH has been 8.2 for millions of years. 7 is neutral so the ocean is now and always has bee basic!
On one part I am concerned on how ocean carbon capture can be problematic in the same sense as atmospheric carbon capture. But at the same time, it seems to be something that can buy vulnerable coral and reef populations enough time to live through climate change (so that we don't permanently lose them). I can imagine implementing such technologies, on say, the Great Barrier Reef. Hopefully this promising technology comes to fruition and hopefully it doesn't introduce more problems than solutions.
Hahahahaha 😂🤣 yeah Australias great barrier Reef is dying. Then how come the reef is bigger than in decades. These scientists are making to much 💸 from climate change to look too hard.
Is it possible to get an update as to what his work showed with his experiment into controlled acidification?
…and came along carbon credits 🙄
Extending the life of the fossil fuel industry by financing climate change initiative policy funding. What a load of tax write-off that is.
CO2 lowers ocean Ph level.
We need to stop removing shells. Put back what we take out. The natural decay helps bring nutrtion back.
Countries should meet to discuss on climate if they are committed to take action and take responsibility based on their economic and capacity
what do you think of norman borlaug now?
e
They destroy the world then they blame us for trying to survive. Hopefully one day people realize that we are all humans and that we aren’t just moving around for no reason.
This is climate pseudo science. The ocean in not acidic and its PH count varies steadily within a stable band.
total BUNK. variation in ocean pH caused by global CO2 raise is negligible. Natural, more acid CLEAN rain, affects pH WAY more than CO2 absorption. This is pseudo-science in the service of crushing western prosperity, an act of warfare driven by the WEF/UN and those nations and crony economic opportunistic parasites who finance them.
a 40% increase in acidity corresponds only to 0.15 pH decrease, which is inconsequential over the period of time it happens. Clean rain changes pH more than that. Again, journalists use the most sensational, and irrelevant presentation of data. this is blatant intellectual dishonesty, driven by some ideological agenda. We are fed up if being treated as children, as human cattle to be husbanded.
These videos are nothing but scaremongering to increase funding for these people.
Firstly, it's a slight reduction in alkalinity rather than rising acidification.
So much BS is thrown at innocent people who inadvertently become victims of this propaganda.
Toxins and pollution causes this NOT co2 .
Coral reefs produce 50% of the world's oxygen while covering only . 0025% of the ocean floor. We are destroying our Earths lungs along with 20% of oxygen from rain forests that are being destroyed at alarming rates…………….we are destroying an ecosystem that is eliminating 70% of our atmosphere's oxygen……….I don't think I need to tell you what means for the survival of all species on this planet.
let's thank capitalism, consumerism, petrol and plastic for all the mess we are in
This complete and utter garbage. Just an other bedtime story to scare the kids. The real problem humanity faces are the scores of gullible people who believe everything they see on tv or in this case youtube
Hysterical clap trap.
just face it we are living on a dying planet, with nowhere to go
