  1. I Find the snark in this video interesting. Because if we are being honest. It was always obvious trying everything was always going to be what we ended up doing. The idea that you can get a bunch of humans who all have different incentives and motivations to all agree to do the same thing even if that thing is going to have a negative impact on them was always ludicrous. So instead of being snarky that this is what we end up doing. We should be incensed that this was not obvious to begin with. We cannot be a culture that values peoples freedom to do what they want. But then be annoyed/angry when people do EXACTLT THAT.

There was only ever one off ramp from this climate change death spiral. It was allowing nuclear fission energy to continue its development and roll out. Not only are you getting rid of CO2 emissions along with other atmospheric pollutants. All the waste is left in the reactor. Which can be recycled till the final waste amount is a fraction of its volume and only needs to be stored isolated from our environment for 300 years. A Timescale humanity is more than capable of engineering proper storage for; oh and by the way at the end of that time in isolated sotrage what you end up with is minerals we use in industrial processes. So its less waste and more accelerated atomic aging (like aging wine/alcohol). The only thing we would have had to do is get the advanced nations to take on the responsibility of running the recycling facilities to avoid the proliferation issues. Since the advanced nations ALREADY HAD NUCLEAR WEAPONS. So them making more was inconsequential.

Funny enough nuclear energy, fission that is not fusion. Is still what will end up getting us to Net Zero as active CDR will requite us to have access to the orders of magnitude more energy nuclear power makes available compared to what our chemical energy power plants would ever have been capable of. For those paying attention Fusion while somewhat useful. Literally becomes unneccessary if you built out fission as fusion power plant only gets you one more order of magnitude more energy in comparison to what you get when you go from chemical energy to fission energy. All while still leaving you with the same radioactivity problem since the neutrons will activate the reactor during its operation, requiring the same storage concerns we have with fission today.

We also need to get over the fact that fossil fuel use will likely remain a part of our economies in perpetuity with the scaling up of active CDR systems. While I expect coal burning to be permanently obsoleted with scaling up nuclear fission reactors. I suspect in the few countries where this makes sense natural gas will take its place initially only to be replaced by artificially made methane. It will provide the economic incentive neccessary to really scale out these active CDR systems. Especially if they are paired with ammonia production and capturing other gases from the atmosphere that have industrial uses.

  2. Who was turning on the tapes before the dinosaurs became extinct or the other 4mass extinction it’s a government cash grab and I’m much more worried about nuclear war and having the best life possible but governments are making that harder specially for the middle class and poorest people on the planet

  3. It's energy reduction that matters first, refrigeration biggest one by far 3900 twh of electricity. Airjoule is the solution to reducing cooling energy loads by 75% and can eliminate refrigerants while making fresh water. These units are in production, company just went public, big boys like ge bought in heavy, they're running with the biggest players in the game catl, Bosch, and carrier paid huge to be first to manufacture using their tech. This isn't hype, it's going to be everywhere within the decade because if you can make an AC unit, fridge, heat pump etc, be 75% more efficient than everyone else and make clean water… Btw translate the savings airjoule would do to our energy grid and that equates to a reductio of over 1 billion tonnes of carbon. Hoping like-minded people find this and like me want to invest in these companies not just for profit but for humanities success. AIRJ / AIRJW for those interested

  4. The criminals that run governments don't care… not caring about anyone but yourself (a characteristic of most criminal mindsets) is how we get here.
The US government is happy to throw trillions of dollars at "stuff" (money laundering mostly) but little of this has any benefit to people.
The government is too inefficient (because of criminals) to actually do anything about a real problem. It will require non criminal private companies to have any chance of success… so it is highly unlikely there is a non-tyranical solution.

  5. Trees are constructed of carbon and turn co2 into ox and the peepal tree is the worlds .ost powerful source of oxygen plant trees freinds and as well as this great idea willwork but plants are the original solution best bet is to start planting new forest rather then deforestation

  6. I'm old enough to remember the countless earth catastrophe, terrifying, gloom and doom predictions that have come and gone over the decades. These predictions have been proposed by the leading scientists of the day, many of whom are still practicing their art. Unfortunately, absolutely none of these predictions have proven to be quite true. But we are made to believe that in spite of the past failures to predict, the current predictions, THIS TIME, will be proven correct.

  7. And the CO2 hoax continues. I don't watch these anymore so maybe she covered the fact that oceans absorb CO2 as part of the carbon cycle. Infinite sink nearly. Then algae and plankton use it for growth and release O2, nearly 90% of atmospheric O2. Plants absorb for growth and, again release O2. Not possible for humans to produce enough CO2 to have an impact.

  8. i though of another method. I only saw this being done to trucks by some stratup company from the US. There could be a container that keeps all the co2 from comingout the exhaust pipe,an attachment of sorts, which could be stored somewhere safe.

  9. Don't grab C02 from the air . Grab it from the oceans , from the water . In water the density of CO2 is much highrr than in air , thus making a more efficiÃĢnt and easy carbon capture possible . That is also why seaweed and mangroves , taking up water from the sea , are much more efficiÃĢnt in CO2 removal than landbased trees who take their water from the soil .

  10. It's kinda sad that money holds us back, you need a money motive for DAC . When it comes down to it people will do what they need to,disregarding money, but currently millionaires are going to fight tooth and nail to stop that from happening.

  11. What we should look into is reducing CO2 emissions and CO2 in the air enough so that the global temperature won't rise by 3 degrees (Celsius) and for other countries to have temperatures of 43 degrees (Celsius)

  12. Science illiteracy, as CO2 causes no problems net zero is a disaster we are in a time of CO2 shortage. CO2 is essential in photosynthesis for recycling waste into food and everything needed for life

  13. It's imperative that we learn from our mistakes. For God so loved the world 🌎.. He wouldn't impressed with the way some of the elite put profit over the future lives of others and our children 🙏.
