40 thoughts on “What is Climate Change?: Crash Course Biology #8

  1. The earth will survive climate change
Life will most likely also survive climate change
Whether WE survive climate change, is mostly up to us, and we're running out of time.

  2. Earth remembers what you did it to her for your VCR’s, electric stoves, TV’s and your unopened collectible trophies from Star Wars to Barbie dolls.

Earth feels the attacks for your PlayStations, cellphones, EV’s, solar panels, flat screens, diesel engines, and our temperature controlled homes.

Earths biosphere does not care about your blame games, political and religious beliefs. She is appalled at those who dine on meat, dairy, eggs, and marine life.

When the clock strikes 2.5 Celsius, Earth will drown your PlayStation with her tears.
And after FedEx fails to deliver your package due to washed out coastal transport highways, Earth will not care that you are unable to give a one star review to Amazon due to internet being down.
And Earth will not hear your cries over her thunder as you shout, “but we wanted to create economic growth and prosperity!” When the clock strikes 2.5 Celsius.

Hear the words 2.5 Celsius on every Bday, anniversary, baby shower, and the all mighty Black Friday and Xmass season as the fourth fiscal quarter closes.

We’ve committed to 5+ Celsius. It’s a done deal. The sixth extinction has been signed and sealed.
And it will be the extinction to end all extinctions.

  3. I'm saddened that we're still split politically in the acknowledgement of climate change. We really need a global effort to combat this issue but it looks like it's going to be an uphill battle all the way.

  4. When European countries developed, all kinds of environmental pollution, such as the industrial revolution in London in the 18th century, burning a lot of coal, European countries used a lot of oil in the 20th century, and then relied on environmental damage and wars with the world to make a fortune to become developed countries, now Africa, Asia, South America, burning coal is not environmentally friendly behavior, double standards, hypocritical people

  5. Science is sound and we do not need to double check, scientists have very solid peer review going in this regard. Of course, forces who will be impacted by changes we will have to implement have tried to lie, cheat, work around. It is essentially tied to their economical power they have over the world right now.
So it will be a actual fight if we do not want to go into that dark night. This is about overriding hoarding and greed instincts of few for common good of everybody else.

  6. Excellent video on the topic and a great host!
People who make excuses like "oh, the earth has been this warm before" don't stop and realize that humans or the crops we need to survive were not alive and thriving in those eras of hot earth climate.
