why spend money on roads when you're trying to stop people owning and running their own car? if I was ideologically obsessed like the Australian socialist elite, the neo-Bolsheviks of the unannounced cultural revolution against the west, then it makes perfect sense to cut back on road infrastructure, except for the main arterial/access roads that are needed for administering the country and running public transport. If the govt can't stop the masses from buying petrol to keep their cars running, then they'll just block them out of the market with EV's and their exorbitant price tags and battery/car disposal strategies yet to be faced by the current wave of inner-city EV acolytes. yes, that infrastructure money is needed for the new transmission infrastructure that the turbines and panel farms will need. Never let common sense get in the way of ideology.
Net zero is a fantasy. Our treasurer must be on some serious medication if he thinks it’s attainable in the next century. Let alone the short time frame he’s advocating.
