Their deadly winds and torrential rain wreak destruction on an unprecedented scale: Cyclone Nargis, which struck India in 2008, caused 12.1 billion U.S. dollars’ worth of damage; Cyclone Ida, one of the worst tropical cyclones on record to affect Africa and the Southern Hemisphere, ravaged Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Malawi throughout March of 2019.

what a well-made documentary on such a critical topic! the visuals really capture the impact of cyclones. however, I can’t help but wonder if there’s too much focus on the destruction rather than the resilience of communities that face these disasters. it might lead to a skewed perception of how people actually cope and rebuild after such events.
