  1. Why oh why did the Tories adopt and expand this ruinous Net zero nonsense, brought in by Labour? Only 5 mps had the common sense to vote against it.

  2. Parliament has outsourced policy on Net Zero to technocrats in the Climate Change Committee (CCC). It's in the CCC's interest to keep net zero BS going to keep on their gravy train.

  3. England needs industry we cant let the lies of carbon emissions be used when a volcano pumps out more emissions than china alone. This is to prevent us making steel using coal to power tho we can use hydro power in lonodn get the tidal way set up to run turbines though its shaft

  4. A real patriotic govt would ignore net zero for at least 20 years, we just don't have the tech, grids or resources to do it right now. We must keep using gas and oil for now.

  5. MPs should not be making sweeping decisions for the public when they have not given them their consent. This govt are tyrannical and doing what they want not what the electorate wants!

  6. I not abandon it but it need major cut backs as we are far from ready for it. Eva are not fit for purpose batteries are not good enough and take far too long to charge and charging costs far too much. I’m afraid the ice cars are the only way to keep the country moving no matter how you look at it. Now to limit house hold to a maximum of two cars is a way to cut emissions not that the car is the cause of it but gas boilers cause far more emissions than a family car. Years ago in the 1980’s house had Emerson tanks and they was heated by a small gas burner and escaping heat from this set up warmed the house so heating was not needed in some cases and now houses are much warmer and air tight with double glazing they would be a better option. This hot water on demand is the issue with the modern gas boiler. Every house has one including every flat has a gas boiler. I hardly ever use my central heating I just put warmer clothes on an electric shower is more than enough and my kitchen equipment like kettle toaster I’ve gone for low wattage caravan appliances toaster is 700w and kettle is 500w and make sure you only boil what you need to make a brew. EBay has some very handy low powered appliances if you look and yes they are not badly priced.

  7. Time is ticking down, somewhere out there a government is going to have to fess up and tell the people Net zero is never going to be achieved.

  8. If you think the costs four net zero you mentioned are anywhere near correct ,you're in cloud cuckoo land.!? This is a on going cost that will make paying of WW11's bill look like paying of the HP for the colour telly you brought last year.

  9. Finally a major politician has finally woke up and is talking sense. All we need now is for a major political party to wake up. Then we, the common sense public, will come back and vote.

  10. As heat pumps are a "reverse fridge" and you can get a decent fridge for under £500 why are heat pumps so expensive? Even the connecting them up shouldn't account for the difference – sounds like a scam to me and I will not be having one.

  11. In Ireland which us approximately a tenth the size of the UK it is estimated that to reach net zero by 2050 it will cost 20 Billion per year. See the late Professor Ray Bates. .

  12. Of course we should abandon it, wasting billions upon billions to achieve virtually unmeasurable results! Wish you do nothing until the likes of China and India have got their pollution levels down to something within a few percent of ours, until they do this then everything else is a total waste of our money

  13. Net Zero Policies need to be dropped. They will have no effect on world net and ruin the country. No matter what you do Chiona is building 50-80 new Coal Fired power Plants a year to get its people OUT OF POVERTY. Continuing to reduce pollution should be continued in the Uk but not via tyranny type dictates and policys.
People are struggling to keep themselves out of poverty in the Uk and need to have some freakin happiness out here.

  14. Net zero is a fantasy and one has to live with reality, not dreams. Making the economy more energy efficient and reducing dependence on fossil fuels as much as possible has a far greater chance of being achievable. And, as others have pointed out, even if net zero were possible in Britain, that is meaningless without countries like China and India doing much more to reduce their emissions. Unfortunately, there is more chance of Mickey Mouse or Buggs Bunny or Dick Dastardly and his friend Mutley becoming President of the U.S. or Prime Minister of Britain than that happening.

  15. nobody wants it, nobody asked for it but that’s just them lot doing what they want to do instead of serving us like the should be doing.
And it’s always been that way…
