I have EG4 system, and 4 batteries were less than 5000.
I would never:
Do the multiple conversion necessary for battery storage
Build a system to sell to utility as they pay MAYBE wholesale for what they charge retail back.

If you reside in southern NV, our kWh rate is .12 cents! Don’t complicate your wellbeing and calculator. We have no blizzards, hurricanes or tornadoes to worry about, only WW3. 😂😂😂

I would offer the following:
1) Add detailed Single Point of Failure Analysis to the discussion. In an outage having a key component break is bad news. The net is you made a good choice with your Enphase decision. The only area of concern I have with the Enphase batteries is the single comm board in each chassis which communicates with the rest of the Enphase components/gateway. I plan on stocking spares (Assuming Enphase will sell them to me).
2) I believe your municipality did you a favor at capping the capacity at 20kwh. The cost of the Enphase batteries is very high per kwh compared to the price/capacity leader – the Chevy Silverado EV 4WT. It has interesting packaging for a battery but the equivalent Enphase capacity would be $164K. The Silverado 4WT can be had for about $65K as I write this. The 240V outlet is the same as a generator.
3) The DIY mix/match setups are VERY problematic if the installer/designer is no longer available or you want to sell your home. Using the one vendor architecture is the way to go.
4) I like the EcoFlow batteries. But a 5 stack in the Delta Pro Ultra is pretty expensive itself. I plan to wait until Enphase releases the 10p battery next year. I will buy two of those along with the Silverado EV 4WT.

Just out of curiosity, $33,000 is about 25 years worth of energy for me connected to the grid, at current rates and my usage. Average electric bill about $110.
Saw that safety bar in front of batteries in garage lol. Or if plan to put batteries in basement, a basic isolated/fire proof room is needed inside basement to put batteries in. MA permits are crazy…
I was surprised when I looked at the design of your home. It looks like a lot was done for architectural reasons. It really limits your ability to reduce constructionr costs and to allow for future flexibility. Why not go with something that maximize your solar roof facing toward the South instead of all the cutout architectural angles. My guess is there was limitation on what you were allowed to build in your area and it had to conform potentially to a HOA requirement? By the way your videos really provide a wonderful service in informing Us in making us all think along with the entertainment value

These types of batteries coupled with a solar energy system seem like an ideal solution. BUT – we are terrified of the possibility that they suddenly explode in a fire storm.
I have 13 Enphase panels (small 5kW system). I hope to upgrade to 10kw and put in a battery system some day, but my utility doesn’t have a battery program yet. I probably should upgrade our space heating system first though because we still use baseboard backup heat. 😂
Unfortunately, Factor appears to come with a lot of plastic packaging, which inevitably ends up in a landfill, due to the lack of demand for recycled plastic. Off topic, I know. Thanks for the video.
This all seems great, but you are completely voulnerable (as I was buying Enphase solar) to the power company simply saying "well you are not sending us that many KWh per month." I put out 450Kwh of energy and then the utility bill comes saying I only sent them 210Kwh. Then what do you do? Loosing all that money in the long run, without consideration of battery cycle loss. Or if the power grid program is thrown out 5 years from now, you're out 50K for a home solar system and will only take a loss at the end (that is also a big IF Enphase keeps working year after year for 25 years beyond warranty). Now, if you have an electric vehicle and some 2 hours of commuting to do per day then I think it would be worth it. Thoughts?
Buddy, you did the right thing! I'm here in Tampa and after the last hurricane, I was out of power for 7 days and my enphase batteries kept us in condition while everyone else in my neighborhood eithe had to leave or struggle to keep their generators running with the gas shortage.

I don't understand the $275 per Kw statement ~7:00. Locally, all in (electricity, service charge and taxes) during summer months, I pay less than 14 cents per kWh.
What do you mean by, "They pay you $275 per kw that you supplied to the grid" ?
Interested in more info about concerns around batteries during catastrophes like the recent hurricane and EVs reportedly burning down some houses. The only thing I’ve see is you should drive your car away if there is this possibility? And what about home batteries?

Does it make sense to get a battery even if you don't have solar? Beyond just being a back up? Financially and environmentally? Deponds on power company? It helps the grid which might indirectly help the environment?

I have utility + generator. What I want is a whole home UPS option. I'd like to run the house off the batteries and charge them from the utility or generator. Unfortunately I have not been able to find an always on battery system.

In my country, i spent about 8600usd for 12 solar panels (550w), 8.8 MW hybrid inverter, 8 gel 12v 200ah batteries, labor, and whatever the safety boxes and devices. I plan to get a lithium battery but it cost 2350usd….hopefully the price come down after my gel batteries die
Anything is better than a Powerwall.
I'm getting an Sigenergy unit. That's fully modular. with my next home I'll add a stack or the DC charger.
No impact on the initial installation.
Think this is one of the best methodes out now.
Contemplated other "modular" systems, yet these aren't parallel and needs lots of extra wiring on the sides.
