  1. Max Planck is known as the Reluctant Revolutionary because he advised caution against the direction of Quantum physics. In retirement, he lectured the general public to be wary of theoretical physicists who claim to have solved "PHANTOM PROBLEMS". You have separated yourself from your peers BEFORE your retirement. Thank you. In regard to Climate Science (this video), I suggest that a 1500-year climate cycle might be the reason. Ocean levels rose to submerge ancient Roman villas in the Mediterranean Sea and corresponding human habitation on the coast of the Baltic Sea. Years ago, I saw a documentary of the Great Barbarian Migration of Europe. The documentary repeated the testimony of a barbarian who said that their homes were submerged. Thank you, Dr. Hossenfelder.

  2. Yea indont think climate change isn't happening but indo believe our efforts hindering the economics of the general poor are wrong and new sciences like scymatics and new energy sources including the old nuclear should by us more time.

  3. I have never seen a "climate scientist" who is afraid of getting in public and saying that climate change is an existential threat to the earth, nor any who subscribe to this belief.
Also, we know science is coopted by biases and gain. This incentive structure by nature impedes the proper continuation of science.
Unfortunately, those using it for power like that fact and will only further propagate the issue.
The only way to get rral science os to return to the model that requires proof and establishment instead of the current one ruled by consideration and conjecture.

  4. So the religion of climate change states that it's all caused by human activity. It's not. We don't put much of a dent in total CO2, and, at saturation, CO2 doesn't add much heat at all anyway. Also, there is evidence that CO2 concentration lags temperature changes. Is is a total hoax? Most likely it's just an enticing conclusion for some scientists looking for 15 minutes of fame, but mostly politicians and those looking for a business opportunity. That shouldn't stop the study of our atmosphere and climate in general. It probably needs to stop being conclusion based research though. Maybe consider that our short period of measurement is basically meaningless on a geologic scale? Or, that a 1.5 degree change is not devastating – that's just going from morning to noon.

  5. I don't like how the phrase "trust the science" is used in a dogmatic way. The point is to be skeptical and thorough, but it's become a bumper sticker slogan, and it seems there's this authoritative bias that's spread to the point that it's difficult to challenge any polarizing or generally accepted claim because there's not much room for nuance in most people's political ideology.

  6. The "COVID" situation has proved scientists (and sadly, many doctors) will lie about anything as long as it means more money in their pockets… Same goes for "Climate change" (yet people will still buy whatever crap they tell them, time and time again) Interesting video – I think I may end up subbing

  7. The purpose of science is to answer questions about our reality and relationship to it. Many times, when you answer a question, you end up with more questions, as your understanding grows. Those who falsely claim that science should be blindly accepted aren't scientists but those who either paid for a conclusion (government financed studies designed with a predetermined result to push a political agenda) or those who seek to take advantage of misconception from science to push an agenda.

  8. I am a cosmologist and a palnetary scientist and I do not trust any "scientist". Science has sold out to social and political idologies so much so that we cannot trust scientists. It began in the humanities. Academia has sold out to the a ideology that is no longer concerned with the truth but what they can invent to get a PhD.

  9. The political problem with climate research is that the starting point is the end of the earth.
After which the politicians make symbolic measures that would never be able to save the earth from annihilation.
The politicians are probably aware that they are cheating, or they are stupid.

  10. The medical literature is full of studies proving the benefit of a new drug over an established treatment. In some cases the control group (old drug) takes a significantly higher dose than standard in order to prove the new drug has fewer side effects. In other cases, the control dose is so low it is clinically ineffective "proving" the new drug is better. This is known to have happened in many anti-depressant drugs as well as many others. It would be interesting to do a video about the countless examples of how we as patients and physicians have been misled.

  11. Does she realize that scientists usually have positions at universities ,they have jobs unlike you ,so if any one needs to lie to make a living it would be some one who lies to make youtube views

  12. True science is being hidden from us! Oppressed! Look what happened to TESLA and many others ! Everything is limited and suppressed by those few who are running this sick world! Highly recommend to watch THE LOST CENTURY:and how to reclaim it.Great documentary!

  13. Scientists are still people. All people have inherent flaws, proclivities, weaknesses, and biases. Human nature is the Achille’s heel of science and must always be accounted for in any scientific finding. Who is the author of the study? Who funded the research? Who stands to benefit from these findings? These questions should be top of mind before reading the findings of any study.

  14. When people started telling me that science says a man can be a woman and a woman can be a man, that was when science had completely jumped the shark for me.

Granted, I don't think an actual scientist has ever told me that. But I don't see a lot of them with the courage to stand up and set the record straight. So what good are they?

And that's far from the only way that science has been abused or misused to advance an unscientific, ideological agenda.

When someone tells me that science says something obviously false, that doesn't increase my regard for the falsehood, it decreases my regard for science.

If science can't police the misappropriation of its imprimatur or mantle for such shenanigans, then it deserves a reduction in credibility and status.

  15. Hey Sabine, thank you so much for being bluntly honest. I have seen every word you say happen in front of me, and unfortunately am still seeing it every day. But I hope I will bring a change. Hats off to you!

  16. I think climate scientists are FAR FAR FAR more afraid of being called deniers than they are of being called alarmists.
People routinely publish papers making obvious false alarmist claims and get nothing but praise for it.
People try to publish papers questioning the "consensus" and get hounded out of the field.
There are no "climate deniers" or "climate change deniers". There are people who question how much climate change there is and how much of it is natural and how much of it is really unprecedented. THEY face the name-calling, the cancellation, and the loss of grants. Alarmists get nothing but praise and money. No rational person would fear being called a climate alarmist.

  17. Great video thank you!

The first principle is that you must not fool yourself, and you are the easiest person to fool.
    — Richard Feynman

The right to search for the truth implies also a duty; one must not conceal any part of what one has recognized to be the truth.
    — Albert Einstein

We’ve learned from experience that the truth will come out. Other experimenters will repeat your experiment and find out whether you were wrong or right. Nature’s phenomena will agree or they’ll disagree with your theory. And, although you may gain some temporary fame and excitement, you will not gain a good reputation as a scientist if you haven’t tried to be very careful in this kind of work. And it’s this type of integrity, this kind of care not to fool yourself, that is missing to a large extent in much of the research in cargo cult science.
    — Richard Feynman

  18. Best science channel on YouTube. Always informative, always timely, always entertaining. That being said, I am not a climate change denier. That’s flat earth level thinking. What I am wary of is “climate alarmism”. It’s properly Malthusian. How did we ever figure out how to feed all those people? “An Inconvenient Truth” was a flatulent exercise in creating a new doomsday religion where we would be punished by hellfire for our collective sins. Ugh.

Scientists: Hey, we see some evidence that humans will have some effect on the climate in the foreseeable future.
Politicians:(How can we turn this to our advantage?) Look! The sky is falling! Elect us quick!
Scientists:(Being the rational materialists that they clearly see the money trail.) Umâ€Ļthat’s right! Death is around the corner!
Gullible Public: We must block traffic on the freeways! We have to glue our hands to things and splash condiments on priceless works of art! If we don’t we’ll all be dead in twelve years!
Skeptical Public: Damn you politicians and your little science cronies!
Average Public: Would you guys shut up! I’m missing “The Kardashians”!
