Opposition Leader Peter Dutton has claimed that Australia will not reach net zero by 2050 under the Albanese government plan without nuclear.
“Australia is the only economy that doesn’t have or has not committed to nuclear power,” Mr Dutton said at the Bush Summit in Townsville on Friday.
“We know that under Labor’s plan without nuclear, you’re not achieving net zero by 2050, we don’t have the ability to transition our economy and to decarbonise. The prices would continue to go up.
“The Government wouldn’t have signed up to put our sailors into the nuclear submarines if they thought it was unsafe technology.”
