Moderators should not be “fact checking”. That’s not how a debate works. The other debater is supposed to do that. That’s why it’s debate and not an interview.
The storms aren't causing more damage because they are stronger, it's because we keep building a bunch of frail shit in their path that costs alot to replace in this economy.

Ive been told my whole life about how the polar ice caps will melt and flood the nation. Yet if I look at a picture of the statue of Liberty 🗽,the water line is in the exact same spot today. I was also at one point told that we would have an ice age,a hole in the ozone,acid rain, global warming,and now the catch all term "climate change". If you believe any of their lies, I suggest you simply wait a decade,and they'll be claiming the exact opposite of what they claim today.

Re the debate, we weren’t there to hear what Nora had to say. We wanted an opportunity to hear the candidates speak and both moderators acted like their opinion mattered.

Overall the number of hurricanes may be similar, but their intensities are changing. From 1979 – 2017, smaller hurricanes decreased but the larger, more destructive ones increased. Even when they didn't make landfall, their forces were stronger and they traveled slower allowing for more devastation over a local area.
Just to point out, the NOAA predicts more Cat 4 & 5 storms with increased wind speeds and they are wetter.
More – due to sea temps rising, we've seen more glacier melting causing global sea levels to jump half foot since 1900. This is affecting storms and many scientists wiuIt's expected to rise another 1 – 2 1/2 ft this century.
Anyone can bypass someone speaking and look at the data for themselves.
Just to warn everyone, hundreds of people prob wasn't worried about 'Helene' affecting them. They are missing now.
