While the iFLO barrier rises on its own using the force of water, other complementary technologies can further transform the way we manage floods. One innovative example is the use of sensors that monitor water levels in real time and alert authorities in advance.
Additionally, permeable materials in sidewalks and roads help drain water more efficiently, reducing urban flooding. And the best part? All of this can be integrated into sustainable and low-cost solutions!

Is it being used in a few places in the United States because honestly I’m wondering why more states or places don’t have them such that it’s not common knowledge
What happens if the barrier goes up and someone gets trapped on the water side, especially if there’s no backup motor or battery? While the barriers aren’t particularly tall, there could still be critical situations—such as someone in a wheelchair—where lowering the barrier quickly is essential. In emergencies like these, there should be at least a manual option, such as a hand crank, to ensure there’s a backup plan!
So in case of a flash flood this is basically useless since I'll have to wait for it go up after the flood already went inside my house.
It has already been a reality for a couple hundred years in Venice 😂😂😂
Imagine the Impact of fighting the climate crisis to reduce extreme flooding and of giving rivers space and floodplain forests to disperse floods.
Looks about as reliable as the Irish economy
some leaf will block it like all ours streets
Okay, I will be straight, they work*
* Means that in case of flash flood or initial floods, things things tend to collide and most of them are not working,😅
Also catch is there is no official government body in world that actually does regulate testing.😢
But what if the water is higher then the barrier😅😅😅
😂❤❤❤
They need something like that to stop the flood of smash and grab looting.
Hopefully no one decides to cheap out on materials to save a couple of bucks.
I'm surprised Florida doesn't have better systems like taller homes on stilts, pretty much
這個設計真的是G力耳屎
Not anywhere that got wacked by hurricanes I'd bet.
😂😂😂
engineers and those who are going to live on the low side of the river or sea are idiots and brainless ass** now innovation for brainless living style
Or just… dont live where it floods?
UN said we need to come up with better ideas for preparing against climate change. This is what we come up with
Wasn't a little girl in Indo on the news for something like this?
What if someone pranker put water on it
It’s Dutch
Hold on… this writing is fire 😭 ✍️ 🔥 🔥

So clean no garbage.
