  1. Once again I will say, that the 100% tariffs on Chinese Vehicles is acceptable for a short period but I would hope that in 3 years the tariffs will drop to 50%. It is the consumer who pays for the tariffs so that the big 3 US Auto makers can stay in business. I am a retailer and I have to compete against Amazon and Walmart and their huge assortment of Chinese products. Shareholders of GM and Ford maybe should not take a dividend the next few years to help pay for the switch to EVs. The tariffs allow corporations to profit at the expense of the consumer.

  2. Brilliant! To hear the CEO of Ford say he's been driving a Chinese car for 6 months and doesn't want to give it up is amazing. It's refreshing to know that a massive car company like Ford hasn't just stuck it's head in the sand and assumed there is no competition to worry about.

  3. Ford is in good hands. Tesla and Ford are the only western companies which will survive long term vs Chinese car companies. Japanese have head in sand meanwhile

  4. Such a very intelligent man and and someone who is very optimistic about Fords future. I fear personally Ford are losing this battle. Jim seems very worried about the company going into the future . I can only pray that Ford will survive and come through this. If not , BYD might just save them ! That is what i predict !!

  5. I do like E bikes they are easy to use and assist in peddling, but EVs are just too slow to charge and use especially in a country like Australia where EVs are just not selling so many issues with them. Cheers from OzđŸ‡ĻđŸ‡ē

  6. For the CEO of one of the worlds greatest car makers, he is very down to earth and easy to listen to. He’s very honest in his appraisal of how Ford sits against the competition. An awesome podcast!

  7. It is fascinating, if they dont adapt they will fail.

Especially because i have a feeling a few chines oems are coinf to band together and buy stalantis very soon. That will mean zero tariffs in the eu, uk and usa!

Ford and VAG eill need to adapt very quickly, or both are going to have a very bleak future

  8. Noticeable Farley, unlike many Western car companies, doesn’t lazily claim Chinese has unfair advantage. More he just appreciates China intentionally set out 10+ years ago to gain that head start on the rest.

  9. What a great interview, he sounds a really interesting fella. Its good to see him acknowledging not only that the competition good, but better in quality and manufacturing arm.

Im now going to start roiting for ford now. Was a ford family growing up in the 80s and 90s, so sad to see the crap they sell atm. Its good he see that they know they have to pivot

  10. Jim Farley is the CEO we all want. He is so in touch with reality. Everyone else is trying to deny fact and delay the inevitable, including the politicians advancing protectionist measures.
