An ominous report from the UN paints a dire picture about the direction the planet is heading without immediate climate action. The report says if the current pace continues it will result in global warming of more than 3 degrees Celsius by the end of the century – more than twice the rise agreed to nearly a decade ago. The world has currently warmed by about 1.3 C. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres says a three degree rise in global temperatures would be “catastrophic.” Tapio Schneider Professor of Environmental Science and Engineering at the California Institute of Technology.

The irony is that anything to make us more efficient and sustainable energy water air exists, but wont be shared or given to the general population due to industrialization and profit..

"Animals and humans will not go extinct" — WRONG — we are already way into the sixth mass extinction in earth's history, with declines in animal populations of 70%, and 90% for many insects, and many species going truly extinct every year. Meanwhile, the untenable form of industrial economy has disrupted perhaps every human culture, separating them from tens of thousands of years of co-evolving with their ecosystems.
The key technologies for decarbonizing energy and transportation are already in development, and could be in mass production by 2026.
The Sun in concert with our weaking magnetic field cause climate change. And even if humans had any significant affect who will make the entire planet comply? As the WEF said recently time is running out and it looks like the carrot and stick approach will need to move to the stick approach.

Why are the other planets heating at the same rate without humans?
Catastrophic climate collapse is unavoidable, no matter what climate mitigation humans attempt. Humans should not have 3 trillion tons of recalcitrant greenhouse gasses into the atmosphere. This needs to be immediately removed and there is no way to do that, even if we had a thousand years to do it.

The speaker was far too optimistic in my view. Based on past history, it doesn’t look good going forward. I would say we are past the point of a total climate disaster. There is really no hope of ever getting to NetZero. He didn’t mention anything about aerosol I’m asking and its impact once it’s removed due to efforts to go to zero nor did he mention anything about tipping points.

I have lived in SW Florida for thirty-seven years . The government in the state is in bed with developers. No common sense to the unmanaged growth . No common sense ….easier to ignore even in the midst of disaster …..it is all about $$$ and making it in the moment .

When the Paris Accords were written during Trumps presidency Trump pulled out of the Paris Accords stating it was not a good deal for the American tax payers. When Biden took office within one week he gave the Paris Accords 1.5 Trillion dollars for the rest of the world, but the U.S. still needs to come up with there own money to fall inline with the Paris Accords 2 degrees C target. by 2030 and every time the COP meets the target temp. is pushed further forward and I think now we are at 4.0 degrees C

I’m no scientist but when MN hit 70 degrees in January and I saw 1/2 dozen motorcycles running around several years ago , you don’t have to pound nails in my head to see the large ship of weather is turning faster and faster. Vote to deal with it the best we can.

At birth each makes a 30,000 day average lifespan demand for flammable fossils food water etc etc. We're now spewing 57 billion tons of greenhouse gases pollution into our globally shared atmosphere annually. The ocean levels are NOT rising and they know this. What's happening is called "tectonic rebound" and it was caused by trillions of tons of snow and ice that actually depressed the earth's crust into the mantle. Now that the glaciers have receded from these regions, the crust is "bouncing back", albeit on a geological time scale. This truth has been confirmed by satellite measurements. The depth of the water hasn't changed. The elevation of the sea floor is what's changed.
The entire "rapid climate change" narrative based on CO2 is verifiably false.

People need to just realize that nothing will change or save us. Humanity is extinct but doesn't fully realize it yet. When they do, there will be a LOT of anger (and likely violence) against those who failed to act and those who enabled them. After all, when everything is already lost what keeps people from acting out? It will get very ugly in the coming years .
