For the last 20 years now, the standard of living of Albertans has been going consistently down regardless who was in government. Of those 20 years only 4 were under an NDP government. Each and every government in Alberta has added regulation, hired more bureaucracy, failed to cut the size of government, failed to pass tax cuts, etc. As a result the purchasing power of the wages and pensions of Albertans has been destroyed, this is why so many Conservative leaders failed and were removed by their own party members, and I cannot see Danielle Smith surviving her 2026 leadership review for exactly the same reasons, she may survive in 2024 because she is 2 years into the job and some people may want to give her a second chance. I have seen enough of Danielle Smith, record government spending, billions of dollars in subsidies for carbon capture facilities, no tax cuts, a friend of the LGBTQ2S community by continuing to pay for lifestyle surgeries and continuing to collect employee data on gender in order to give preferential treatment to hiring LGBTQ2S+ employees, etc. I will vote her out at the leadership review a week from today,

Anyone thinking Alberta can prosper and grow or placate Ottawa by giving their resource control to the Federal Government is sadly informed. Federal politicians know and both Ontario and Quebec know they decide every federal election in Ottawa. When did we ever hear an Ottawa politician publicly say we want to shut down Hydro Quebec but just not right now, never.Or to Ontario we want to close down the Auto sector in Ontario and cars run on oil but just not right now. If the people of Alberta think electing a premier friendly to Ottawa will grow the province economically are sadly mistaken. If you want proof look at some of the poor provinces in Atlantic Canada who were among the Original four long before Alberta and Saskatchewan became provinces.
