At least 95 people have died in flash flooding in Spain. The government is warning people to remain vigilant as the situation remains dangerous. It’s also declared three days of mourning for the dead, in one of the worst natural disasters to hit Europe for years. The situation is particularly bad in the Mediterranean coastal regions of Valencia and Murcia. About 1000 members of Spain’s emergency response units have been deployed there.

In Germany we had it in Ahr Flooding and before in Braunsbach, never before floods… in Spain, South France or North Italy this is like a every year thing, but now on a new level!
We can’t do much about it, it’s a thing the government has to manage!

The cause and foundation of the problem is italy and France Paris,Rome,Napolitano,Napoli,America, Rome,Taranto,Torino,Sardegna;;
I suffer for my first country just now but I cannot pass the claims trying to sell that there's no prevention for something like this. As some of the comments clarify, this is a regular (in geological terms) occurence in the area, just exacerbated by climate change. You cannot put a patch two days before the fact, but you can clean and free the water avenues (many of them have been covered in concrete). You can get clean energy to mild the changing of known weather patterns. And the way of urbanisation is also a factor here. What it was a paradise of nature has been covered with artificial terrain: free the ramblas (water avenues) of concrete so that the soil can retain water, plant local autoctone species to prevent erosion, don't use the heating at the maximum if you can wear a pullover or robe at home, go for greener architecture and projects and above all in Spain, forget the political fights and start looking in the direction of the future together. Prevention is the way you live you life long term

It is not a climate change it is a human actions to cut forests….the trees help to prevent a huge water floods and they accumulate water during a hot dry seasons…
The damage that is being done on our cities will only continue and increase in magnitude if we do not all get together and properly do something against the destruction we cause in nature and try to turn the tide in climate change. We need to get over our ignorance and arrogance. Our planet is a live being, its fighting against the destruction we cause for it. We must turn the tide, or the deluge will destroy us slowly.

This naivity, ignorance and arrogance will be the end of us. It has everything to do with climate change. We need to tackle this crisis we cause for our planet properly. This planet is a live being, it is fighting against the destruction we cause on it. As long as we continur our forsacken path, the destruction on our societies will only increase in magnitude. It will get much worse.
Fighting climate change also means fighting those who oppose fighting climate change. For their policies are void and null. They would be the end of us. We must not tolerate their positions. We have, we must go green, stop polution, stop destruction and focus on clean energy. End all fossil fuels. Use it only in the smallest and most neccesary areas. These politicians need to be made quiet. Or they will drag us all into the abyss.
