25 thoughts on “‘Enormous opportunity’: Tim Ayres on Australian steel being used for the net zero transition

  1. Knocking down hectres of trees to build "net zero" products with coal and mainly importing manufactured products from china who produce more emissions because of our heavy reliance on them as manufacturers. Only winner in net zero are china. Not us. Build base load power and plant trees.

  2. Really? And please do enlighten us on how steel is made? Ah, you just get it out of the ground in rolls huh? With sky hooks and solar powered cranes.. Got it..

  3. Too bad their energy policy is destroying what is left of our steelmaking industry. We're about to be flooded with cheap Chinese steel, which will be the death knell for places like Whyalla.

  4. Because the UNIONS HAVE HEAPS AND HEAPS OF MEMBER SUPER INVESTED IN RENEWALS! That is WHY Labour is trying to monopolise the market.

I have NO idea why bo one has mentioned this… it's insider trading!
