We simply cant afford to ever again allow a government to remain in office who is voted in on a manifesto that they then ignore in office. This government is destroying the economy, running up vast debt and will be removed in five years. But the individuals walk away Scott free having destroyed so many people’s lives and leaving the country in financial ruin. We must introduce a safety mechanism for use with rouge governments such as the Swiss petition/referendum system.
The pound dropping quickly might actually mirror a similar economic disaster.

I agree things will have to get worse before they get better. Zero growth with increasing debt will lead to more tax rises and even an imf bailout. Labour will be toast by 2029 so the Tories and Reform will have to agree to some kind of alliance to ensure they do not win by accident again.

The labour will gov have increased the UK state pension by ,, £460, but if you have a private pension and pay TAX, ( you know you paid in to a private pension )they may take £92 straight back off you, also , the thresh hold for Pension credit is around £218/week ( those that did not pay the requirement because they went to the pub pi*ing their earning against the wall), but the person who pain full NI and thought of their future , and gets £221 minimum pension, and they dont get pension credit, why because they are £3.05 over the limit so dont qualify for winter fuel allowance, and now get around £181/yrs LESS than those who get pension credit, so dont Labour DO YOU KNOW how to add up, did you go to school? Here is the calculation for those on pension credit which is less than=£218 52+300 =£11,663, now, those on standard state pension. £221*52=£11, 482 =£181 LESS than those who pissed their earnings against a wall.
Of course Labour lied!! They slated the Conservatives for having the highest taxes since WW2, so they go and make it worse. The people of Britain, who voted these morons in, are not fit to vote! Labour, when voted in, historically, do exactly the same, have people got such short memories? Why are the leaders of our tiny nation so hell bent on committing economic suicide, whith these stupid tax rises and net zero policies???

as bad as lizz truss maybe and she isnt innocent, she has literally hit the nail on the head for the country. there are interests within government, corporate sector and the legal system which seek to maintain a status quo of class and wealth. this is whilst the average earner or working bloke picks up the tab or is rubbished. it cannot be allowed to continue, or else Rome will burn and disappear altogether.

If a UK political party reneges on its promises there seems to be no price to pay. I cannot reconcile that fact with the notion that the UK is a democracy.

I’m a product designer and the average salary in the UK is around 50k. In the states it’s 120k… I absolutely believe Liz when she says the Americans are much better off financially!
