Hardly GRILLED, very soft interview, she was not pushed on anything, i have seen harder interviews on Good morning Britain and Chris looked like he needed the toilet, a bit disappointing for GB news.
She says they haven't increased taxes on working people (despite not being able to define 'working people') BUT …….
Employers NI has gone up, and minimum wages has gone up – both of which are a cost to any company employing people. If a company which provides goods or services has higher costs, then they either absorb those costs – impacting their bottom line – or they pass them on to their customers. If the costs they are absorbing are too high and the company doesn't make a profit, they go bust. If the customers decide that the goods or services are too expensive and reduce or eliminate consumption, then profits go down and eventually the company goes bust. A company goes bust and all the employees are out of work. I am reminded of California where recently the Governor increased the minimum wage for fast-food workers to $20 per hour. As a result, at the last count, over 15,000 workers in that sector have been laid off . Could this happen here?
