  1. Climate change is too big for the individual, it requires governments to work together to hold the top 70 companies to account for the majority of the pollution and there's almost absolutely nothing that governments are doing to force the these relatively tintlny number of polluters ( causing the majority of the c02) to fix the problem or to pivot to lower c02. Infact some of those governments are so right wing and pretending it doesn't exist.

  2. To paraphrase you, ‘Just because all crows you’ve seen are black doesn’t mean to say that the next crow you see will be black! It’s got to be true, right’?
Just to be pedantic, in the UK there is a black and white crow called the hooded crow, related to the black carrion crow, which, while rarer than the carrion crow, is significantly common as to prove the point!
The case for ‘Long Covid’ has been made many times and a small number of people will feel they can use this as an excuse for not working?

  3. 19:01 its important to remember that this is a new disease we do no know what the long term consequences of it will be ,… this is why i was tearing my hair out listening to the likes of bozo the wonder prime minister we do not know what the 10 year 20 year 30 year effects will be in terms of mortally or disease burden which is why it was so unconscionable that so many leaders acted they way they did and they hubris and the hubris of there followers have doom us all to this unknown future

  4. Governments of all stripes, especially those that have ill-intent towards those on social security, love to quote the whole figure for the social security bill. They do this as a means of garnering support whenever they want to make things even harder for those in receipt of benefits. Yet they never want to break down the figure into the various groups that make up the whole. Pensions, housing benefit and in-work benefit make up the vast majority of the total figure. Pensions make up a huge proportion of the benefits bill, and our society is getting older and sicker, so obviously the bill will rise.

  5. "You blight the soil… and poison the rivers.
You raze the vegetation… till you cannot… even feed… your own kind…
And then you boast… of man's triumph… over nature.

Fools! If nature were to shrug… or raise an eyebrow…Then you should all be gone…"

  6. Not taking things that impact the larger society or even the entire world seriously until it's too late is simply what people do. It has to do number of factors from simple denial to feeling overwhelmed by the problems to various reasons for maintaining the status quo and other things in between and aside from these three. We've done it in the macro level with political figures and movements, natural and man-made plagues, and right down to individual examples most all of us can point to in our own personal lives. As for why, it's not like there's one answer to that either. It's complacency, fear, greed, obstinacy, ignorance, lack of resources or will power, and on and on.

  7. I think the average person is waiting on governments to do something because it is such a significant issue that they don't see how their own actions will make a difference.

Governments are all waiting for pther governments to do something and no one wants to be the first one to look up..

  8. Don't Look Up only had one huge flaw. Towards the end people believed it. A realistic version would have half of people ignoring it, making plans for a tomorrow that would never come even as the fire rains from the sky.

  9. Neither political parties nor the media want to really acknowledge COVID happened, except in a monetary context. The feeling I get is a stubborn and dogmatic determination to carry on as though the pandemic didn't happen, it does away with the need for bold and fresh economic ideas. Far easier to blame the individual and tightening welfare even more.

  10. “There is enough on this earth for every man’s need but not for every man’s greed”, Mahatma Gandhi ….. The increased Individualist culture means people don’t associate their actions with the impacts on the environment.

  11. What individuals should do: Vote and use your voice, eat less meat and dairy, cut back on flying, leave the car at home, reduce energy use, respect and protect green spaces, bank and invest money responsibly, cut consumption and waste, talk about the changes you make.

  12. For the avoidance of doubt it doesn’t take days or weeks to recover from a major disaster like that in Spain. It takes minimum several months but usually years.

  13. Subjects about which you know nothing, until you need to know everything: Disability

Specifically, Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI) and Paralysis, but also conditions like Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (M.E)

It’s honestly mind blowing how ignorant we all are to many many things that hugely impact other people…

  14. ask me how I could have known the water comes from the mountains, as a rapid stream? I saw that in a dream, or better, nightmare. I dreamed that on tuesday I believe, or before that… I knew. I know I am a witch but I also hurt cause I could not help anybody… (I am in Germany, but I visited the region a few years ago..).

  15. Thank you so much for this amazing video! Could you help me with something unrelated: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?

  16. I wish I could have phoned in for this, but am currently ill with the latest version of Covid, which seems almost as horrible as the first time. As someone who has long term health issues due to Covid, I am not surprised by this conversation. It has permanently damaged my health, and the health of many of my peers, some of whom have already died in the last year. I actually believe that many of our lives have been foreshortened by this virus. I am self employed so I work as much as I can, but am ill more often now, so have to take days off that I'd rather not. I'm fairly sure that the cost of dealing with the health issues will be offset (sadly) by the fact that many of us won't make it into extreme old age. I have a current fairly serious health issue being investigated which they believe is a direct result of Covid. They were surprised to hear I'm still working, but I have to, to survive.
