  1. Eh maybe a little, you're a decent guy..

We will be fine. Threats are external. Internal unrest will subside as we tire, get used to change, get a leader with a vision we want to follow, and sadly, the emergence of external foreign threats.

  2. The 2024 US election is probably the longest, most divisive and most expensive election in the history of the country and perhaps in the world . No other democratic country is adopting this kind of election system, most elections in Asia, Europe, the Americas, Canada and Australia only lasted at best 2-3 months with a cap on spending. Just for comparison the 2024 US election cycle lasted more than 2 years started in 2023. Our democracy really needs an update.

  3. I wouldn’t mind voting republicans if their policies didn’t include some hidden conditions. This is what I see them doing. Lure in voters with great promises in exchange for everyone’s liberties.

  4. stop doing both sides. it's tired and boring. Trump literally said Liz Cheney should face "Let's put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her, OK? Let's see how she feels about it. You know, when the guns are trained on her face." and you pretend that he didn't say those exact words.

  5. So it's distrusted/detested system, then the result is invalid. You will need some hard time to rebuild trust, it will probably bring instability to your society.

  6. I reluctantly and respectfully voted for Trump. My issue is with Kamala Harris and her lack of coherent policy stances. Trump is the less of two evils, who will secure the southern border, improve national security, remove double taxation and he treated RFK with respect.. I would have much rather voted for RFK, Bernie or Biden.

  7. Wow…..Ian Bremmer…..you think Canadian "democracy" that harbors Khalistani separatist movements is "fine" but couldn't get yourself to name the world's largest democracy by people (India) that just demonstrated a free and fair election in April……you even mention New Zealand which while a democracy not a significant world power…..

You need to introspect on your biases before you provide your "expert" opinion….

  8. As a non-American it is remarkable how devoid of rationality the "intelligent" people in the USA are.
    1. Attacking the person and not dealing with the underlying issues seems to be a real problem (regrettably).
    2. Not requiring ID for voting is devoid of rationality. One can only surmise that the intent behind that is not pure but rather to commit voter fraud. I fail to see how rational people on either side of the spectrum would consider this as enhancing free and fair election. Surely all parties would like a high degree of confidence that only eligible voters actually vote.
    3. It is glaringly obvious how supportive the Democrats are of Illegal immigration. Surely Rational person would prefer LEGAL IMMIGRATION. This is clearly not the case for the Democrats, as all their efforts is to assist illegal immigrants at the cost of law-abiding US citizens. I fail to see how this is not seen as a serious dereliction of their Governmental duty to protect the US and its citizens.
    4. Abortion for Convenience. Wow This just indicates the deterioration of moral standard.

This is sad to see the respected USA in such a decline and one can only hope (Whoever wins) that rationality returns and the US as a leader in the world actually leads on principal issues not emotional issues.

  9. Trump is a thug. Many working class Americans are fed up with the elites running the country and lost trust in the institutions. They want this thug to deliver a different outcome.

  10. To be fair, he said he'd like to see a lot of guns trained on Liz Cheney's face.
Excusing Trump on technicalities because hes good at veiled threats instead of direct threats is a little weak.

  11. Ian, why do elections matter? Personalities change but policies don’t change.
Go back and look at Reagan administration all the way to the Biden administration. Please, tell us the policy changes?

  12. BTW Ian, how do you define democracy, in plain English.
You see, IT has destroyed the tools America utilized to operate “Engineering Consent”. The bastard of Edward Bernays is killed by digital Social Media.
These words don’t matter any more.

  13. You're not telling people who to vote for but start your video by saying that Trump should not be able to run and that he will not accept the results if he loses. Right.

  14. We appreciate your honesty… although Trump drove the economy forward made everyone ritch kept world peace secured the border developed the covid vaccine destroyed the Nord Streem gass pipeline Wiped out Vagner in Syria punished the use of poison gas in Syria wiped the floor with Iran Taliban IRGC 😅 ISIS brought Israel and Arabs to the pece table gave offensive wepons to Ukraine gave us the cheapest gas in our lifetime and full employment… you are much more impressed and in tune with the Biden admin….. that brought us the highest deficit ever recorded highest inflation highest interest rates and 2/3 of Americans saying the country is going the wrong way and are now poorer than 4 years ago the Humiliation of Afghanistan and the mass murder and the end of womens rights in that country the Abandonment of the Philippines to Chinese aggression 1 million dead in Ukraine reinstated the Nord streem cut of wepons 2 Ukraine failed 2 spend on the military is losing the war in Ukraine because of appalling weenes is 2 Senile to make it through a sentence find its way off stage or make it up the stairs opened the boarder to upwards of 11 million illegal migrants who have produced a crime wave right across the country of unprecedented scale resulting in the murder of hundreds of young women …..
