A Quick Take to kick off your US election week. I’d say happy Election Day, but it seems more a matter of stress and anxiety for most Americans I know. And frankly for most non-Americans I know that are watching it. And in many ways this is really not the election that we want to be having. Not because there’s a problem with the electoral process itself, though you wouldn’t know that from watching people online. There have been a lot of studies and audits on non-citizens voting, for example, which has gotten a huge amount of attention in Congress recently and on Twitter recently. And virtually no non-citizens are ever on rolls or vote. There was recently a Georgia audit, did a full audit of 8 million people registered and 20 of them, 20, were non-citizens.
You’ve never had an election remotely swing … Of illegal voters going to the polls. There are no cyber issues because you’re not allowed to vote online. That would be one of the most vulnerable parts of a US election if that wasn’t the case. You can track your mail, your vote if you are voting by mail, as I did for example. In almost every state, just in a few non-swing states is it not possible to track exactly the state of your vote. I mean, in many, many ways, this is the kind of an election that you want to have, but people don’t believe in it. And by people, I mean Americans and I mean Americans across the political spectrum. And I think there are lots of reasons for that. Why not?

We will be fine. Threats are external. Internal unrest will subside as we tire, get used to change, get a leader with a vision we want to follow, and sadly, the emergence of external foreign threats.
In CA, the outcome is predetermined by the large majority.
An individual vote, one way or the other, has no material effect on the outcome.
The democrats are the reason why political institutions are eroding. They installed Kamala and circumvented the electoral process.

The 2024 US election is probably the longest, most divisive and most expensive election in the history of the country and perhaps in the world . No other democratic country is adopting this kind of election system, most elections in Asia, Europe, the Americas, Canada and Australia only lasted at best 2-3 months with a cap on spending. Just for comparison the 2024 US election cycle lasted more than 2 years started in 2023. Our democracy really needs an update.
I wouldn’t mind voting republicans if their policies didn’t include some hidden conditions. This is what I see them doing. Lure in voters with great promises in exchange for everyone’s liberties.

Let's see how she feels about it. You know, when the guns are trained on her face." and you pretend that he didn't say those exact words.

A perception of instability is not a recipe for economic growth or world peace.
So it's distrusted/detested system, then the result is invalid. You will need some hard time to rebuild trust, it will probably bring instability to your society.
The Democrats did not accept the result in 2016.
I reluctantly and respectfully voted for Trump. My issue is with Kamala Harris and her lack of coherent policy stances. Trump is the less of two evils, who will secure the southern border, improve national security, remove double taxation and he treated RFK with respect.. I would have much rather voted for RFK, Bernie or Biden.
I just don’t like how President BIDEN was sidelined.

As a non-American it is remarkable how devoid of rationality the "intelligent" people in the USA are.
1. Attacking the person and not dealing with the underlying issues seems to be a real problem (regrettably).
2. Not requiring ID for voting is devoid of rationality. One can only surmise that the intent behind that is not pure but rather to commit voter fraud. I fail to see how rational people on either side of the spectrum would consider this as enhancing free and fair election. Surely all parties would like a high degree of confidence that only eligible voters actually vote.
3. It is glaringly obvious how supportive the Democrats are of Illegal immigration. Surely Rational person would prefer LEGAL IMMIGRATION. This is clearly not the case for the Democrats, as all their efforts is to assist illegal immigrants at the cost of law-abiding US citizens. I fail to see how this is not seen as a serious dereliction of their Governmental duty to protect the US and its citizens.
4. Abortion for Convenience. Wow This just indicates the deterioration of moral standard.
This is sad to see the respected USA in such a decline and one can only hope (Whoever wins) that rationality returns and the US as a leader in the world actually leads on principal issues not emotional issues.
Trump is a thug. Many working class Americans are fed up with the elites running the country and lost trust in the institutions. They want this thug to deliver a different outcome.
