The Greens co-leader Patrick Harvie condemned John Swinney for congratulating President Trump on his election victory.
Mr Harvie said ‘Yesterday, the First Minister offered congratulations to the convicted felon, Donald Trump, on his re-election.
Writing officially on behalf of the Scottish government, he wrote that he is sure Scotland’s cultural and social ties with the US will flourish during the presidency of a ‘misogynist, a climate denier, a fraudster, a conspiracy monger, a racist, a far right politician who tried to overturn an election result, both covertly and by inciting violence.’
Words fail me.’

First guy did a good job point out the many ways Trump is a threat and honestly going to damage Americas relationships with a lot of people. Its concerning but the Prime Minister did a great job separating the relationship with a country and its leader. Just because the US elected a leader that controls by fear, hate and racism doesnt mean the country should lose ties with our allies.
For all I know, I disagree with all the policies of both men but after the old men the US chooses to lead it lately, its nice seeing a leader than can express their thoughts clearly.
