Climate change is affecting the beautiful Garo Hills in many ways unpredictable rainfall, rising temperatures, and deforestation are causing major challenges for both nature and the people living here. In recent years, we have seen:
Irregular monsoons lead to floods and droughts.
Deforestation from shifting cultivation and illegal logging, reducing forest cover.
Loss of wildlife Many animals like the Hoolock Gibbon and elephants are struggling to survive.
Soil erosion & landslides, damaging homes, farms, and roads.
Water shortages, as many small rivers and streams are drying up.
This song is inspired by these real issues and the need to protect our environment and culture. The Garo people have always lived in harmony with nature, and we must come together to raise awareness and take action before it’s too late.
