As firefighting efforts continue, anger grows over water mismanagement.
One resident confronted the governor of California Gavin Newsom just as he was trying to reach the president and asks him “why was there no water in the hydrants?”.
Sky’s US correspondent Martha Kelner’s report speaks to some of those frustrated residents.

Newsom doesnt know why there was no water in the reservior in the Palisades. It was off line to repair the cover. It held 120,000,000 gallons of water. The heroic firefighters used 3 backup tanks holding one million gallons each. At 3am the first night, forefighters ran out of water!
The resetvipr was off line and empty since February,2024. That almost one year! Someone had to know that! Obviously Newsom did not!

I really admire Mr Gavin for his success in business before his politics career but what he can do right now is to spend less time on his hair and raise wages and bonus and grant and so on for the firefighters forces and national guardians right?No one should be blamed for this disaster but the way we handle it is just something worth discussing

I’m hurting for my city! These fires devastated LA but these wildfires are not always preventable Los Angeles is literally a desert. We literally have a fire season every year in Cali.
