CBS Sunday Morning 
In 2022, climate scientist Peter Kalmus moved his family out of Altadena, California, to North Carolina, to a place he hoped would be “less fiery.” His old house burned to the ground in last week’s wildfires, while North Carolina suffered the effects of Hurricane Helene last fall. Kalmus tells correspondent Tracy Smith he hopes people are finally listening to warnings about climate change. Smith also talks with amateur meteorologist Edgar McGregor, who warned his fellow Altadena residents to get out as the flames approached; and with John Vaillant, author of “Fire Weather: On the Front Lines of a Burning World.”

places not safe = trees aka forests which experience known high winds. steep valleys with snow fed streams. large open areas – like the plains. again, places not safe.
Instead of saying " not safe " why not say – Needs building code improvements. In the case of california, why not say " Thinning forests/trees/shrubs back 200 feet from any property lines…easier to put out a grass fire than a raging inferno. Folks be like " We love our trees, we love our view, our house is no ashes because of our love.
California went from " fire season " to " year round fire season " and now folks with lost homes be like…dam…we should do something about this global warming, somebody needs to pay…and then the home owner realizes it was they who had to pay.

The Native Americans could see the whole picture of the results of greed and religious hypocrisy, years ago. They tried to warn us and said if you have no regard for that which is sacred, you have no future, and your ways will poison your children and future generations. Since when does the love of money listen to the wisdom of the human heart? The heart goes dark when it becomes the root of all evil. Consult with others instead of exploiting them.
So at the height of all this savage and in your face information, why did the people of the United States elected a president and a congress that is clearly against doing anything fix the problem? This administration wants to increase oil production, and is promoting the increase of fossil fuel burning. I guess more houses have to be lost and people have to die 💀 before the people of the United States get serious about fixing the problem. It’s sad but people in the US are very short sighted.

it isn't a climate crisis… wild fires have been ravaging this area for over 100 years. in the early 1960s it was just as devastating but nobody mentions this. It happened due to mismanagement. The climate crisis didn't bring the wind, its ALWAYS BEEN WINDY IN THAT REGION YOU TOOLS!

How many trillions of U.S. taxpayers' dollars would have to be spent to lower the earth's temperature by 1 degree F? And why does CBS not ask this of any of the climate alarmists, and does not provide any estimate of the costs?
People cannot do anything about global warming. This needs to be handled by the government that has more budget to act at a bigger scale.

There was no mention of the fire hydrants with no water, the reservoir was empty for a year, no prior drills to make sure they were prepared for this type of emergency, not calling other fire departments around the state to be on standby, the mayor traveling overseas on the cities dime instead of leading her people. I was in Malibu as the fire came to the house and burned it down. There wasn’t one fire truck anywhere. Climate change may have been part of me losing everything, but changing incompetent leadership will fix the problem quickly in the meantime. LA needs to do better.
The reaction to climate change is the primary culprit in the LA fires. A fire needs fuel and without controlled burns, there is an increase amount in fuel for the fires. Without fuel, there are no fires.
After the DENIAL of CLIMATED CHANGE, will come the PANIC, as the horrible effects of RAPID CLIMATE CHANGE become more common!

I cannot imagine what it is like to be among the tens of millions of Americans who believe this 'green' alarmism. On the first 'earth day' in 1970, dozens of extremist predictions were made by famous and influential environmentalists. None of them has come true. Zero.
