I remember when the Super Typhoon blasted Great Barrier Reef and the dive tour operators began screeching 'Coral Bleaching!' And it worked!! Absolutely anti-Science, but the meme fit, like the iron claw in the velvet glove, and $$$$.
That same period, I was east in the islands, water as warm as blood, corals rich and vibrant, a gazillion tropical fish. Great Barrier Reef is COLDER than the Pacific Islands, so you'd wonder, maybe it's agricultural runoff, silt, untreated sewage, pesticides and herbicides, a real 6th Extinction!
