For an inherently worse search since the ai usually just gives me the same result as the top search but with more fluff text

She described India as a land of unrest, famine, and carnage, and that she was deeply concerned about the well-being of her subjects and the stability of the empire. If you Google USD:INR, you will understand the India-America Alliance is bankrupt, like two drowning swimmers. The rupee is 1/10th ç, and falling! Your tax dollars and disappearing IT jobs are bailing ln'dia out!
Well maybe google should be a better search engine, instead of doing its best at never giving its users what they looked for
For the algorithm
The big companies are one thing.. But in general, AI is not actually as energy intensive as many claim. Open source models can be run on home PCs, and use less energy than the same hardware uses when playing videogames.
I remember when search engines gave me the information I asked for. Now they randomly pick a couple of the keywords in my request and make up a nonsense answer that about 50% of the time is factually and even legally incorrect.
Pro tip from yesterday: don't ask AI what fish breeds you would be allowed to keep in a cold water aquarium in New Zealand. It will either give you tropical fish that would die in cold water, or fish that are not present in the country and it's a crime to attempt to import them.
Live was better before A.I. Except for medical and scientific analysis. But for everything else, Ehaghhhhhh…
AI may be using a lot of energy, but to be fair it's also ruined search forever

Everyone in the comments has missed the point. I agree that this topic is pretty slept on when it comes to AI.
I recommend using Ecosia!💚 they are not-for-profit, they plant trees and produce 3 times as much renewable energy as their servers need 🌳
