So there are beaches on the US East Coast and tunnels running under the beaches, roads for steams and rivers, etc. The same ones have been there for 70-plus years. And no changes to the sea levels that run under the bridges, tunnels, and pipe, unless there was a big storm off the coast. But the level always returns to mean high tide just like 70 years ago!
If the sea level were rising at a significant rate, insurance companies would never write policies for houses or resorts near the beach, but they do…
My brother, a surveyor, says that surveyors use satellite data when surveying.
He said the data is extremely accurate on a horizontal plane, however, vertically they can be out by quite a lot.
I always have problems trying to explain to islanders that their island is not going under and it's actually erosion of one side of the island and adding to the other side
